This was my second time getting food from here. The first time was months ago when they first opened. The food wasn’t great back then, but I didn’t want to leave a bad review because they were just starting out. I figured I’d give them time to improve.
I didn’t know they had BBQ and porridge until it popped up on my Yelp feed, so I decided to give it another try. I ordered roast duck and roast pork over white rice, and a porridge with pork and preserved egg. While ordering, I was asked twice if I needed anything else, and I said no, just the porridge I mentioned. They told me it was still being made in the back.
I went to the counter to pay, and while I was waiting, I noticed the workers talking amongst themselves and pointing at me. One of the ladies told me I still needed to pay. I told her I already did and was just waiting for my porridge. Then a guy from the kitchen, who had been part of their conversation, came to the front and said I hadn’t paid for the porridge because the lady forgot to charge me. I told him I had mentioned it when I first ordered. His response was, “Well you paid and you know how much you paid.” His tone was rude and honestly made me feel like I was trying to scam them or get free food, which was not the case at all.
I don’t usually look at prices, I just order what I’m craving. So for him to suggest I should’ve known it wasn’t charged came off really disrespectful. Also, last time my partner picked up the food, so this was my first time actually going inside. The whole experience just felt off and it left a bad taste in my mouth, and not because of the food.
Definitely won’t be...

The chicken is cooked perfectly, crispy, not dry, and spicy chicken sauce was great. The roast pork was good too, but I kinda wish I tried the other chicken flavors. It was cool to see short rib as a menu item and the Mongolian beef had a weird color, but still delicious. Fried rice was okay, noodles were good.
Service was quick, it was no line at 12pm on a Monday (holiday). It is a cafeteria style so all the food is premade and you choose what you want.
It was chill vibes, it’s on e.14th by SL high school and there is a parking lot with tons of spots. Inside is clean but the booths look outdated, and would rather get takeout and eat it at home.
I eat a lot and couldn’t finish my meal bc of the portion size. I will be saving for dinner time. I will be returning since it’s right around the corner from where I live.

It's cheap, and they pile the food on until it's overflowing. I ordered duck over rice with another plate of chow fan and short rib and pork gluten and it came out to less than $20!?!
I don't know how but they're a treasure and I hope they continue to make it. They've been only open for 2 months and did poorly the first few months because they accidentally labelled themselves as a tourist info zone and not a restaurant....
