I have used San Leandro Auto Care for over 20 yrs now. Van, Owner/Mechanic and staff are knowledgeable, personable reputable. Van has worked on my current 2017 Hyundai Elantra, 2013 Hyundai Accent, Pontiac GrandAm, Chevrolet Cavalier, 1999 Toyota. I had stopped going there because I relocated to a different County and my new vehicle was covered under warranty. So I had been going to Hyundai Antioch. I have been ripped off by Hyundai Antioch before the new management recently took over as well as Meineke, Firestone, Toyota Walnut Creek California, just to name a few. Van on the other hand will NEVER take advantage of you or your situation, nor will he overcharge you or claim to have provided repairs that were really not completed. In other words he tells the truth and he is not trying to get over on the consumers. He is a hard-working honest businessman who goes above and beyond to provide extraordinary service to his customers on a consistent basis. He listens attentively to your concerns and addresses them head on. He checks your vehicle out thoroughly. He doesn't dilly dally, blow smoke up your behind. He tells you exactly what's wrong with your vehicle and what's necessary to correct the problem(s).
My car is no longer covered under manufacturer warranty. I still live a County away but to me it's well worth the travel time and the end results. Read moreAbsolutely the best mechanic I've ever had. Service engine light on? He don't charge unless he fix. Had trouble changing headlight once. Pulled in to get advice and in 5 minutes, done, all he said, don't worry about it. Sent friend with ABS light on. He cleaned a sensor and boom, fixed in 10minutes, no charge. Blew an engine in my ranger. He found a used motor and had it in and ready to go in 3 days. Not free, but worth every penny. Always shows you bad part and what went wrong....
Read moreAbsolutely horrible experience. Brought in 3 cars. Two of the cars were serviced incorrectly, first one leaving my father stranded on the free way from an oil leak due to incorrect filter. Second vehicle smelled like gas, we opened the hood to discover they didn't even close the cap (view screenshot). I even recorded the older guy cussing us out telling us to get out of the shop and being extremely rude because we called him out in his not one, but two mistakes....
