Caltec Computers — Local services in San Luis Obispo

My PC was having thermal shutdown problems due to fan issues, and I discovered it on a Friday night, after work hours. I'm a college professor, so all of files are on the computer - and I needed the computer for Monday morning classes. I was in a bind! So I emailed Cal-tec's emergency service line, and within 30 minutes Brent had sent me an email with some recommendations. A few emails back and forth and he said "I'm here, we're closed but just come on down and we'll have a look." A few minutes later I was in his office, he did a few diagnostics, did a quick tune-up, and totally fixed the problem. (He did this all while helping others on the phone and online). When I asked how much I owed him he said no charge. Amazing!

Having been SO impressed by the stellar service I received from the owner of this wonderful tech resource I am enthusiastically joining the chorus of others praising this excellent local business. I’m actually just visiting SLO temporarily so I was referred to Caltec by the owners of the (charming) motel I’m currently staying at when serious issues suddenly arose with my Windows laptop – as I’m now a digital nomad full-time this was a critical matter indeed for me. Cal tec has been the absolute best for my computer repairs!! I first came in with my PC about a year ago because it wouldn't turn on. The staff at Caltec figured out the problem within 24 hours and got me back my computer. Recently the fan of my computer was making a high-pitched whining noise and so I took it in again to see if they could fix it. It turned out that the store owner was available to help me and fixed the fan within 10 minutes of me bringing it in.
