To start, when I came up to confirm the reservation, the OWNER asked me to pick up my change in the morning because he didn't have the needed tender to change me out when paying in cash. After digging through his wallet, he ended up being able to change me out using his personal cash. Once I was in the room, I immediately noticed the TV was not on the wall mount, leaving the mount virtually unused save a cord holder. There is an obvious discoloration where a picture was once on the wall. The bathroom door is unable to open all the way because of the style of the shower curtain, and the room came complete with attic access. Random electrical outlets have failed, and there are stains on the curtains from God knows what. The most concerning defect is the door has been kicked in and the frame is unsecure. The door frame shows very obvious damage, needing complete replacement. There are 17 nails in the door frame in attempt to put it back together, and foam sealer in the jam where the frame was split. The damage has caused the door to titer and open slightly at the bottom, but plenty to get a good view from. The door, when closed and locked, has a tremendous amount of play and would not qualify as secured and locked. Upon notification, the OWNER agreed to a 10% discount. When I came to collect it in the morning, I proceeded to explain I felt very unsafe in the room. He could not have been ruder, and told me since I came to "complain" he wasn't going to honor the 10% discount he had already agreed to. To top it all off, after I spoke with him, he tried to charge me an extra $100 on my card. He said he didn't trust me and was charging an additional deposit on the room. Thank God I turned my card off, and he wasn't able to charge me a dime. Go anywhere else, this guy who owns it appreciates nothing and has zero sense of Customer Care.

My boyfriend and I stayed at this motel sep 26, 2025 for two nights. I reported bed bugs biting me around 1am on the first night. I was also willing to show the red dots forming on my body. My boyfriend had a few on his lower back. The owner only inspected the bed and rejected them being bed bugs, but did move us from a king room to a room with two smaller beds. BOTH beds in that room also had bed bugs! My entire front and back of my legs and parts of my back and behind my arms have formed red dots. It's now been four days since we've left the motel and the rash dots are still all over my legs and are extremely itchy, as they heal. This has been an extremely horrible experience. We have washed everything we took into those motel rooms, including luggage bags and shoes. I was worried some would come home with us. This was an overall dreadful experience. FOR YOUR OWN GOOD... I'D RECOMMEND STAYING AS FAR AS POSSIBLE FROM THIS SLO INN DOWNTOWN SAN LUIS OBISPO.

mold and other unknown stuff on the wall next to bed, no hot water, wifi doesn't work, heater doesn't work, furniture broken, REAKS like smoke and i asked for a non smoking room and was told it was, which it clearly has been smoked in for quite some time. guy at the front desk lied and said all rooms were non smoking. floors coated w dirt along w the furniture and bed sheets. another guests hair and dirt in the corner. Absolutely foul. made me sick to my stomach i almost chose to sleep in my small car just because i would feel cleaner than staying in that room. NOTHING worked no heated showers or heated rooms. The guy up front lies and will tell u its non smoking when they all read. other reviews from over a year ago have these same claims so they obviously don't care or plan to fix any of these issues

I just stayed there with my pregnant girlfriend and two friends who were visiting and got there own room and they also had the same opinions and experiences other than there bed sheets.. the walls were dirty, the bed sheets were stained, the toilet handle would fall off, the pump in the back of toilet would get caught on the drain chain and I would have to take the porcelain lid off myself to get the chain off the pump so it could fill the back of toilet with water.. the cleaning ladies were nice but didn't speak English and I'm not sure about there experience because we came back to our room and nothing was cleaned but our towels were all gone and we asked for more and had to call down to front desk to ask again then only received two shower towels and two wash clothes.. I asked for hand towels and was told they were out of them..! The next day when the housekeepers knocked we asked for hand towels and she said "okay" and gestured for us to give her our towels and we said u guise came into the room yesterday and took them and didn't replace them.. she then went and got us our hand towels.. then we paid for another night because I originally reserved for 3 nights and was told we had to leave for a couple hours while they moved us to a different room because our first room was booked for that night.. they moved us to a two bedroom room and it was bigger, the mini fridge had a puddle of water inside of it and the front desk said it was from them having it unplugged and off.. the t.v. had a line directly through the middle of the screen.. the tile that the shower curtain rod was hooked to was literally hanging half way off the wall and was going to break off anytime.. the bathroom window had a broken seal and plastic frame around it so I had to be really careful due to it being an exposed glass edge from the window frame breaking. I then didn't open it or close it again so I wouldn't break the window.. the coffee at breakfast only had one pump type thurmus coffee holder/pot and was gone by 9:00am.. sorry for the long review but I really want people to Know what there getting into/renting.. the only one thing that was good is the price.... My girlfriend and I are far from picky but believe that you should at least receive the bare essentials especially if you pay for them and this motel was a let down all the way around.. we WILL NEVER STAY THERE AGAIN.... I hope nobody else makes the mistake we did by staying there.. we were surprised to see it's a franchise motel.. God bless everyone and again sorry for the long review but I just want people to Know the...

Everything about this place is awful, the only exception is the location. I was told by staff if I was to reserve a room on booking.com again they would refuse me service. I asked politely “why are you on booking if that isn’t an option?” after that she got extremely agitated, confrontational and extremely condescending. She argued with me about how booking takes too much money and she doesn’t want to pay them, she’s there to make money and asked me numerous times “do you understand” after I replied yes I understand the first time...initially they tried to give me a room that didn’t match my booking which was a smoking room with a broken microwave/no fridge that smelled extreme heavily of cigarettes it was nauseating (I paid for a nonsmoking room with microwave and fridge). When I went back to the front to have him place me in the right room and I explained the room didn’t match the description he didn’t say a word except the new room number. When we finally got to the room, it was broken in so many ways. The bathroom didn’t open all the way because it got stuck on the protruding shower rod. There is no leg room to use the toilet. The bathroom door handle was broken hanging off of the actual door and the ceiling vent does not take out the shower condensation. This left the room constantly sticky. There was no microwave plate in the microwave, the fridge froze everything inside of it, front door is extremely stuck and would shake the entire room when opened or closed making a huge banging sound. The room key did not work the second day. When going to the front desk no one would come after ringing the front desk bell after several minutes. I had to call the front desk for someone to come out. The room smelled like cigarette smoke because the room next door is a smoking room. I will never be staying here again. The front desk staffs rudeness is enough of a reason for me to not give them my patronage. I know the prices are tempting, but do yourself a favor and spend the extra money by staying...
