Harbor Freight — Local services in San Luis Obispo

Who doesn't love Harbor Freight! Can I get an Amen? This place has everything. Store well laid out, friendly and helpful staff, great prices. I go here for all my workshop and home studio needs. Also, it's much more "personal" than going to Lowe's or Home Depot, trying to navigate a 200,000 square foot mega hardware store that seldom has employees you can locate. I end up spending half my time looking for stuff, and the other half of my time trying to find somebody in a blue (or orange) vest, who actually works in the department that I'm looking in. Usually they tell you that they're on a break...or that they work in a "different" department, so they tell you they'll call for someone who DOES work in that department you're in, to come and help you...and that person they've supposedly called NEVER shows up. You wait and wait and wait, until the second coming of Christ. I hate dealing with Lowe's and Home Depot. I LOVE Harbor Freight! You should go there if you haven't already because they are awesome. They redefine what a hardware store should be. Thanks Harbor Freight in San Luis Obispo....

Went in there today to get a couple of things. The place was busy. But not that busy. No one was welcoming or helpful at all. We found what we were looking for. And had a coupon to use. We didn’t understand the coupon apparently. Because it said 30% off. But I’m fine print it says 30% off of up to $10. And 30%off up to $20. So we bought a $60 item and a couple cheap items. They took the 30% off the cheapest item we had which was $3.99. I questioned the cashier about that. So he called over the manager. She instantly was so rude! And said nope. It’s only for a $10 item or a $20 item. So then we asked if they could use the coupon for 30% off of the other item which was $13.99. The guy laughed rang us up. The manager got too busy to help further. And so with our coupon they saved us a whole 0.90!

They were rude! And made my husband angry. This was the first time in this local store as were new here from another area. And I can promise you this was the last time I will EVER do business there...

Went in to buy a some tools, mildly busy lines were 3 deep. Staff saw me searching for items, but no one asked if I need help which is fine. I like looking at tools even if I don't buy them. Found all the items I wanted, and waited in line. 2 different customers at the cash register kept leaving to get more stuff. Not just in one line but in the 2 lines that were open. One guy went to his car twice. That cashier just starred blankly ...avoiding my direction. The other line, the cashier actually went with the customer to get new items. They would come back with an item then ...go back and return with more ...then ...go back out....agggg. After watching this for 10 min... I left. You may get a bargain priced bargain tool here... but this will be my last resort when I go shopping. If it's anywhere near being crowded, I'll...
