I received a gift card for Spa Cerro from my gracious boss earlier last year and never cashed it in (life gets busy) then my husband got me another gift card for there just this Christmas. So I cashed them both in and the ezperience did not disappoint!!
Oh my word, the Detox Body Polish was the best!! Invigorating with the oils and scrub, followed by a cascade shower (which felt heavenly so now I know the hype on those shower heads is true!) followed by a relaxing massage that was deep enough to help with sore muscles but without "awakening" more nerves or muscle soreness, if that makes sense. Brian was so professional and was fabulous at keeping me properly draped and covered for modesty at all times. Just fabulous!!
Then I had the microdermabrasion facial with Alex and she was amazing too. It was very relaxing and moisturizing and I was prepared for the treatment to possibly irritate or sting my skin but I was pleasantly surprised that it didn't! She helped with some skin issues of small, unexplained bumps on my skin that she significantly reduced for me, without any pain! When she was done my sun spots were also significantly faded. 😁 I felt like I was glowing!! The only minor things were:
I’ve been enjoying visiting this spa for the past 1+ years and have brought friends along when they’re in town to share the experience. In fact, one of my guests, Viviana Cherman, had such a good visit that she left a glowing review. However, my most recent visit on Friday didn’t quite live up to the usual standard I’ve come to expect.
I had a couple of treatments booked—a 1 PM Swedish massage followed by a 1-hour facial at 2:30, with a 30-minute break in between to relax. Unfortunately, the massage ended 8 minutes early, and the therapist suggested starting the facial immediately instead of giving me the planned break. Sadly, the facial itself wasn’t enjoyable either.
I kindly shared my feedback with the front desk staff, and while I wasn’t expecting a discount or credit (though it would have been a nice gesture for a frequent guest), I did hope for a follow-up from a manager. An apology or even a call to understand what went wrong would have made a big difference. After spending over $400, it was disappointing to feel like my concerns weren’t acknowledged.
I still believe in the potential of this spa, and I hope my feedback helps improve the experience for others...
Read moreWhat was supposed to be a relaxing day turned into a nightmare. After my massage I returned to the locker room and my code was not opening the locker. I asked the front desk staff for help and she opened the locker. I then realized my cell phone was missing. Then I realized my credit card was missing from my wallet. I told the front desk staff and they got the spa manager. I asked them to call SLOPD, but all the spa staff did was fill out an incident report. They asked me to wait for the hotel manager, I waited ten minutes and the other manager still hadn’t arrived. I left to deal with the mess of canceling cards and found out the thief had already made two separate $2,000 purchases at the Apple store.
The spa did not compensate me for my service or anything, despite getting robbed at their facility. They did not offer their security camera footage, or to look into which other guests where there at the time of my locker getting broken into. Overall they were very unhelpful and I felt I was blamed for the incident. Do not go here if you want to relax, because you may get ripped...
