My honest advice is skip this place altogether, you can definitely find better.
If you still want to go, go prepared. Things youll need. -A Swiffer -Lysol wipes -Drain cleaner/Disposal deodorizer/Plink etc. -Bring your own sheets -Food that doesn’t need to be stored or prepared.
If youre looking for details: -The dirtiest hotel and grimiest floors i’ve ever walked on, after we got to the hotel i did some unpacking and taking care of the family, and when i finally sat down to take my sock off I had a very black spot on my foot a little bigger than a quarter. I had a very frayed part of my sock just beneath my toes, so while i was walking around the room for maybe 45 minutes, it was dirty enough to blacken the one exposed part of my foot. we went to target to get lysol wipes and spray and hit every surface in the room that night, went through almost an entire bottle of wipes. This place had never been cleaned before, i fully believe it gets wiped with a dry rag and swept in between uses, but it’s never seen a wet wipe, disinfectant or a swiffer.
-Wifi, not the biggest problem, but the wifi is set up in the main office, so the further you are from the office the worse the reception gets. the wifi doesn’t even make it to our building, i have t-mobile and the reception was generally not the worst.
-THE KITCHEN… Oh boy, the kitchen. The stove was falling apart, literally had pieces of the burner smashed off, i wouldn’t risk using it. The fridge and microwave were grimy and unclean, the kind where you place something in the fridge and stuff is sticking to it when you pick it up. possibly the worst offense, the disposal…. i guess the last people there left milk in the fridge and the staff dumped it down the drain, or maybe the guests did, i don’t know, but nobody ran it afterwards, so there was a rotting milk smell EMANATING from the sink, it was so rancid and foul my mother-in-law almost puked when she discovered it.
-Beds are very uncomfortable VERY loud spring mattresses. My wife has trouble falling asleep normally, and any time either of us moved it was comically loud. The air conditioners are also insanely loud. they sound like the outdoor units that power central cooling, but they’re not outside, they’re 2 feet from your face. AC and spring bed combination making her unable to fall asleep for long periods of time.
All three of our carbon monoxide detectors would make a deafening chirp every 20-30 seconds. You know like the noise the rubber on your sneakers makes on an indoor basketball court or school gymnasium? and they weren’t in tune, so it felt like every 5 seconds one would go off. the guy came in and removed 2 out of the 3 for us, and then left with them, we thought he was getting batteries for them but he was gone for half an hour so we called and i guess he never planned to come back, so he finally did… just to take our last detector.
nightmare of a room, wife and i will...
Read moreI’ve been to a lot of hotels, and I pick up what’s good about one, or when it’s bad. My father and I where heading to a family’s wedding in San Luis Obispo. My dad looked at a lot of different hotels near to the venue. So my dad picked the Olive tree Inn. Because the suite we were getting for the price was to good to be true. I saw the picture and I was blown away. Well that moment of satisfactory began to crumble. We arived to the inn, and my dad wanted to see if we could check in a bit early. Most places are usually welcoming people when they show up early. Well the guy behind the desk told my dad that they wouldn’t have the suite ready yet. Now if that’s the case I totally understand. But this guy told my dad if we didn’t come back by eleven. We wouldn’t get our key, and we wouldn’t get our room. In all the years I have been around, I have never had anyone tell us there is a time frame to check in, not once. What was a major red flag was what they went on to say that we wouldn’t get our money back, and we would have to go somewhere else. My dad is a war veteran, he doesn’t like hearing these things, it raises his blood pressure. So how could things get worse at such a beautiful place??? Well we needed to use the restroom which was connected to the Mexican restaurant. We both went into the bathroom, my dad went out no problem. As I was leaving I hear a woman say “Sir!” I gently turn around to see what she wanted. In the most hateful way she said “Next time ask to use our restroom.” Well she wouldn’t have to worry about us asking, because we will never comeback to this place. BUT WAIT THERES MORE! We left the party for my cousins wedding a bit early. Glad we did, because a concert was ending somewhere. We were able to make it back by 10pm an hour before the ban hammer fell upon us. So I waited in the car for about 10 minutes. Then dad came back. I asked what took so long??? Apparently the front desk was our their break… I was to tired to care at this point, as was my dad. Well at least we get to sleep in a suite. We open the door and “drum roll please!” It was not the suite we were promised. The picture was a open room with a glass window. It had a mini kitchen, and a table. Not this room, it had zero windows, and not only that, all we had as for making something was a coffee pot. I wish I would have taken pictures. Over all, avoid this inn at all cost. Poor staff, including the waitress. My dad was basically robbed. I don’t take that...
Read moreThe Manager of the property has made it very clear that he does not care about Customer dissatisfaction. We stayed here for 1-night and it was very apparent that the room hadn't been properly cleaned. The morning of our stay I asked if an early check-in was possible. The person at the Front Desk (I later found that he is the Property Manager said that an early check-in is not possible, because they need time to clean the room. When I entered the room between 3p and 4p there were gnats (little flies) all around the beds in both rooms and in the shower and a dirty footprint on the back of the bathroom door. There was pet hair on the chairs in the living room area and spiderweb from the living room window to the table, so we couldn't use that area. The kitchen sink had leftover food dried up and stuck to the bottom of it, so we couldn't use it. The balcony had chairs that appear to have not been cleaned in a very long time, so we couldn't use those chairs. That equals half of the room that we could not use. Keeping in mind that we were told "early check-in is not possible, because we need time to clean the room". That equals half of the room that we could not use. We were only able to sleep in the beds with gnats flying around us and use the bathroom with gnats flying around us. The hairdryer in the bathroom did not work. The smoke alarm in the seperate bedroom kept beeping and the woman at the Front Desk had to come with a step-ladder to replace the batteries. The phone didn't work properly. I had to hold the cord in the wall or else the line would disconnect. All of this was reported to the Front Desk and the Property Manager. They both said that I must wait for the "Main Manager" to call me back. We checked out on Sunday and I was told that I would get a call on Monday. This did not happen. I called and was told to wait until Friday and I still did not receive a call. I called again and was told again to wait. It has, officially, been 2.5 weeks since our stay and I have yet to hear from any form of Management. Clearly, they do not care. It's unfortunate and I will never stay here again. I have already told many friends and family members of the horrible lack of care for customer...
