This is at least better than the massage I visited last time, who bullied me to pay for $20 tips, so I actually paid it, but when I left, I felt alert about their statements (During my massage, the woman said she would feel proud to be able to marry a man 10-20 years older for his high salary — she was not talking about for her special taste in personal life. No judgement of right or wrong, but the fact that she was talking about using all means to gain money alerted me.) Then I looked up the tip tradition online. I was not wrong - Google said the typical tip for massage is 15%, and 20% is considered very high. Then you can postulate that 10% is also acceptable. They also hid the fact of their $2 card charge. Because they charge you twice, there is in total a $4 card process fee. I believe the card fee is rounded up from what they pay the bank, so the more times they charge for it, the more surplus income they get. Otherwise, there is no way to convince me that a shop operating for so long just doesn’t know they should inform customers beforehand about all fees.

The other comment here mentioning “red flag” of this shop is quite reasonable, too. They do play with your mind, and probably for that commenter, that is to select more lucrative customers.
