Revolution Hair Studio — Local services in San Mateo

This is not a review of every barber there, just the one I got (which didn’t say his name, and I picked for any barber since I was new). Darker skinned Asian (maybe PH or Thai?), strongish accent, a little shorter (5’8” maybe). Older, maybe in his 40s. Wouldn’t recommend for any guys who don’t wanna look chopped. Also, it was $55. There are local spots that do for half of that and are awarded best in San Mateo. Only reason I came here was because I was in the area

Said to not shorten the top. He ended up shortening it 2 inches. Even if it were to even it out, the maximum difference would have been under an inch. He, also, thinned it out which was unasked for.

Cut the sides way too short and pushed the blend way too high because of that.

I was telling him what I needed and he interrupted and said “ok I start with some now and then shampoo”. Which all of that doesn’t even make sense, as said a recent review.

But the fact that he cut me off before I was done telling him what I wanted is insane. Which is what lead to him messing up the sides.

Outside of the fact that he just didn’t do his job really, he also just didn’t do a good job in regarding his decisions to my head shape and proportions. There was 0 communication and then to just mess it up in every way? That’s just blatantly...

I'm a model, and work was already tough to come by this year but after this haircut I'm going to have to quit the industry. Unfortunately, the worst haircut I have ever received. I've been to $8 barbers in the Midwest and they've done far better than whatever you call this.

The stylist clearly has zero training and didn't pay attention to any of my requests including keeping my hair on top long. I didn't want to cut more than an inch.

This dude goes out of his way to destroy my hair making me look like a Chinese teenager who just ran out of fat camp. I have a scar on my forehead from a bicycling accident and this dude cuts off ALL the hair in that region so I have no way to hide it.

If I didn't know any better I'd say it was his personal vendetta to ensure I have the worst...

Daisy has been my stylist for almost 15 years. I have followed her to 4 different hair studios on that time because she's worth it. She has cut everything from longer "scene kid" cuts in my teen years to mohawks for a yearly event my friend group does, to clean fades for work. Currently it's about 90 minutes for me to drive to her, but I happily do it every 8-10 weeks because my hair looks great. I'm a fitness professional so aesthetics are very important for my industry.
