My 2 yo laptop had a failing power port. Brandon said he could swap it out as the Dell site indicated it was a plug in. After he said he would send me the link for the part on Amazon so I could order it (?) within the hour on Friday, it wasn't sent until the following Monday. The $12 port arrived a week later and after taking it to his shop, he emailed me that the Dell site was mistaken and it would require microsoldering, which no one really does anymore. He offered to give me a discount on transferring my data from my now powerless laptop to a new one. He also let me know that tips are appreciated but not necessary, as he was not charging me for opening the laptop. Not wanting to spend the money on a new laptop, I gave mine to my brother, who is an IT guy to look at. Couldn't hurt. I also obtained the name of the shop in Spokane where my nephew previously worked doing microsoldering on computers, as I would rather drive for the hour and a half to have it repaired than replace it. My brother opened the laptop, saw that it was indeed a plug in, and for $12 replaced the power port in a few minutes. It works perfectly. I was really disappointed as there are so many positive reviews for this business. It was nearly a $1,000 replacement cost rather than $12 for a simple fix.
Update: Judging by the owner's response, my post wasn't clear. I gave a 1 star review because the owner informed me that despite the Dell sites documentation that my power jack was a plug in part, the part was soldered onto the motherboard and he offered me expensive alternatives. The point of my post was that the power jack turned out to be a plug in part as the Dell site claimed, and did not require soldering. That he couldn't tell the difference...

Today, Windows Defender put my computer in lockdown. I responded to the toll free number provided to correct the situation but was unable to understand the representative, so I terminated the call. He was able to get the data from my old laptop, whose screen wasn't displaying anything anymore, transferred over to my new laptop.
