Tokyo Express — Restaurant in Sanford

Absolutely fabulous food! Stopped by yesterday evening to order dinner! Actually was the first time I stopped in since last year! They do only to- go-orders! However you can actually go into the restaurant and look at the menu and order! The Restaurant was extremely clean! There is plexiglass at the counter ! With a drop for money! Also the cook is separated from others with glass! He is alone in a area by his self where you can actually watch him cook your food from the other side of the glass! The food was very fresh! Outstandingly delicious 😋! The Staff was very professional and courteous! Thanks so much for the wonderful food...

We decided to try this place, even though it only had 3 stars, but it really wasn't great. Several other people ordered food immediately before us and it seemed like a fairly popular place. They have a good sanitation score and the hibachi style food was made fresh. Though I think the chicken was already made and just waiting for someone to order. The steak and shrimp were definitely cooked to order. Everything was just bland and not flavored like your traditional hibachi food. Not flavored at all actually. Veggies and rice were ok. Went inside this afternoon with my husband and two kids, and didn't notice till after we got the food that no one cooked anything fresh on the grill. I saw the lady fix our food from stored containers, that looked like the food was sitting for a while. I asked her if they cooked the food fresh and she said yes. But when we got home to eat the food, it was soggy watered down vegetables , dry rubbery chicken, half raw shrimp,and dry rice. Didn't even have the Japanese flavor, it was bland! None of us liked the food! Everything was bland!...
