Kathryn's Hallmark Shop — Local services in Sanford

I’ve always had positive experiences at this store. Unfortunately today, I did not. The usual staff were not present. I bought a purse for my mom for Mother’s Day and the associate who checked me out very rudely told another associate to check the bag because it felt “heavy.” They both laughed in a very condescending way. I understand it is common practice to check purses for stolen items but it’s always done discretely and without commentary from associates. They were extremely snarky and rude. What an amazing store! Went in thinking it would be greeting cards and gifts. It's like a mall! Staff is so friendly and helpful! Wonderful assortment of Christian oriented gifts, snoopy and star wars related gifts. Cases of individual chocolates sold by the pound, croc sandels, Ola Kai shoes and sandels, and I even found a Bluetooth speaker! Oh, and good life attire as well. It's a cute store, but don't buy food there without checking the date. I got home to find I had purchased an expired jar of spread. It should have been on the clearance shelves in the back of the store or noted that it was old. I'd expect old food at Walmart, but not a place like this. It wasn't worth the 20 minute drive back...
