Although I was greeted politely upon entering the store by the young man working the front counter, that was where the positive experience ended. I own a piece of native jewelry and asked for them to take a look at it for me as I am trying to sell. I have taken it to several stores around Santa Fe and been offered $300 from two separate dealers. When the owner was called up to take a look at the piece, she gave a quick look and then asked me what I wanted for it. I told her I'd like to be in the neighborhood of $400. She laughed in my face and pushed the necklace aside. Then she said good luck. Then she told me everything that was wrong with it and said I was lucky to get $300 for it. While $300 may be a fair price, I was insulted by the way she acted when I gave a price. I owned a coin shop for years and when people would bring me things, I would quote them a fair price from the get go. I wouldn't ask what they wanted hoping to get them to quote a low price a take advantage of them. AND I certainly would never laugh in a customers face and try to make them feel stupid about their possessions. A very horrible experience all around with the owner, so she will never get my, or my family's business...
Read moreWhat a gem! This shop is off the beaten path which was exactly what we were looking for. Had a couple of rooms of “tchotchke’s” and other souvenirs but a few cases of really nice authentic Indian jewelry which was what I was in the market for. I got into trouble there with a beautiful antique coral/silver ring and a pair of earrings but if money wasn’t an issue, would have walked out with so much more. The staff friendly and not pushy like some others in the plaza.. very accommodating, and knowledgeable. The ring I purchased was antique, so the size was tiny. One of the owners is a silversmith who was so friendly and able to adjust the ring for a custom fit while we settled up! Thank you guys for an amazing shopping experience and for acquiring the beautiful pieces I...
Read moreLeaving Santa Fe was difficult, but it was even harder to leave it without the the turquoise stones I had promised one of my son's. I was looking for something very specific. The owner greeted us and she was wearing some fabulous, work of art type boots. She offered to help me, and then the whole staff was jumping in to help me find what I was looking for. One of their husbands is a jeweler , and he came out bringing stones from his own collection. We found the turquoise shaped just right for what we needed. Their customer service was fantastic!! We are so thankful for their interest in us as people and...
