Epic. It's the only word I can really think of to describe this place.
First things first if you're looking to be the most fit you've ever been, you've found the right place. Box 'n Burn is armed with an arsenal of highly qualified, knowledgeable, patient, and dedicated staff that are there to teach, guide, train, and whip in to shape every person that walks through their doors.
Whether you are the fitness junkie looking to boost your workout regime, need to get back into shape, or have never worked out a day in your life this is the place for you. Every time you walk in you're greeted with smiles and these guys take motivating their members to a whole other level.
I was hesitant to try it at first, the last thing I thought I was capable of doing is boxing, but I kid you not once you start it's impossible to stop. I walked in there not knowing the slightest thing about boxing and thinking there is no way I can do this, and I have walked out of there every time since amped from the best euphoric workout high I've ever had the pleasure of experiencing with a better grasp of combinations I never thought I'd get.
It's probably the hardest hour of my life but it sets up all the rest of my time with a sense of accomplishment and a feeling I can't actually describe to you, you just have to go try them.
They push you beyond where you think you can go and once you get there, they push you some more, and though its suffering while you're in it, you're filled with unparalleled joy at the end because you can feel that these guys are helping you become the best you can possibly be. I tell everyone to just try it once and you'll be hooked, and everyone that does always is.
Do yourself a favor, walk in there and take a class. The atmosphere is great, there's always great music in the background, and everyone that goes to this gym is awesome and fun. It'll be the best thing you ever did for yourself.
I train with Stephen, he's revolutionary and beyond amazing at propelling me past my limits, and in case it isn't clear from everything I've wrote so far, if you need an epic workout, you're willing to come in and put in work (because these guys don't play around, well they do, but only after you're done sweating up a storm), and you want to have fun doing it this is the place to be.
Tony, Kevan, Glenn, and Stephen are by far THE BEST at what they do, and that's getting you into the best shape you've ever been in your life. Don't take my word for it, go in and check it out. I promise you you'll never want to go...
Read moreI've been going to Box 'n Burn for over a year now and I have to say that I love it just as much today as I did a year ago, if not more. Ok, let's be honest I definitely love it more. I've always been a very active individual but am not a fan of the cookie cutter mega gyms. Box 'n Burn felt like a community the moment I walked in. Everyone was super friendly and helpful and genuine. My first day in I was new to boxing and felt awkward and clumsy trying to throw a jab much less any of the combinations. The trainers were so patient and encouraging it motivated me to keep coming back even though it's one of the most challenging workouts I've been through.
Something else I love and am excited about is how they have added these new semi-private classes. I've only been going to two at the Santa Monica location thus far but I'm in love already. I've hit up Glenn's Ass and Abs class on Monday nights which is killer!! Glenn really takes the time to focus on technique and I've noticed a huge difference in the muscles that are being worked...which means I've noticed a huge difference in the muscles that are toning up... Which means I've noticed a huge difference in the way my skirts are filling out. Okaaaaayyyyy.
I've also hit up Josh's Primal Fit class on Tuesday mornings and I'm a big fan. Not only does it work muscles that feel like I've apparently forgotten about them my entire adult life but I leave there feeling part animal/part warrior which, lets be honest, is my favorite part. #savage #beastmode
Seriously, I'm pumped to try out all the classes. I assure you I was never a workout junkie before this but I can't seem...
Read moreHad a great work out at Box n Burn this morning. I was curious how their set up would be. Having prior boxing experience I wanted to see how their system worked compared to what I had learned in the past. So this is my honest opinion. The Box n Burn class is awesome and you will definitely burn ALOT of calories. Trainers are solid and great energy and positive attitudes. For 1st timers they give you a good breakdown of the combinations and explanation of what you will be doing. I loved the 6 station rotation because it gives you an all around burn, working your whole body and you don't get burned out or bored. I think a person with no previous boxing experience can jump into the Box n Burn class and get an awesome workout. They might get a little frustrated at times, but if they continue to do the class they'll be feeling like Ali or Sugar Ray in no time. So I highly recommend this gym. The only little minor issue I personally had, but it's not huge, is that the music was loud so I had a little difficulty hearing the combinations being called out when working the pads, but that's so minor, also because of my prior experience I had to rework my brain and movement to how Box n Burn trainers train., so I was in my head a lot. The music is essential though to keep the high pace energy up. I would suggest for beginners or novices to take the free class and then do a few personal pvt. 1 on 1 sessions with a trainer and get a good base with Box n Burns method of training and then jump back into the group classes. That's my plan. Thanks Box n Burn for the awesome work out and I'll...
