One of the best Persian restaurants in LA with food tasting authentic and homemade right from heart of Tehran. Darya is always my #1 recommendation of Persian restaurant to my non-Persians friends when I wanna have them taste OG Persian food. The thing that impresses me most is getting the taste of stews right as we call “mom-cooked” taste and Darya is the one I swear by. Esp their Fesenjan & Ghormeh Sabzi stews. Their kabobs are up there too. My most favorite and recommendation is Barg. Also their juicy chicken is great but I deducted one star cause there have been a few occasions when I order the juicy chicken but it was very dry. And I had it ordered it for my boyfriend who is not Persian and it was disappointing. Also for to the price, they could do a bit better on salad and sides. I have always offered pickup or delivery but I have seen the inside sitting area, feels very homey and cozy and again reminds me of restaurants of Tehran. Overall this is always my #1 recommendation as Persian restaurant

Came to this place after searching for best Persian restaurants in LA... Ordered the two most expensive dishes on the menu: (1) the Juicy chicken: pieces of chicken breast well marinated and full of flavor. It’s a must-try dish. Very similar to chicken Shish Tawook. It costs $24 and it’s worth it. 10/10 (2) Naderi Soltani: two skewers of beef meat both grounded and pieces. $32.. nothing special. 6/10.. I rate it as 6/10 cuz it’s too expensive for such an ordinary order. We also added a skewer of chicken Soltani (chicken kobab) good to try. Nothing special. 7/10 We had the cranberries rice .. forgot what it is called. It had good flavor. 8/10 The orders did not include grilled onions or peppers thag usually come with the meat. Only grilled tomatoes were included. We also asked for a side sauce of yogurt, but got a large bowl of yogurt and were charged for it ~ $10 lol The place looked nice and high end.

The rice was extremely greasy, and the portions were half of what you get at most Iranian restaurants. While most Iranian restaurants will give you grilled tomatoes, onions and peppers with your order of Kebab, Darya gives you one grilled tomato. The service is terrible. The Latino servers were nice, but the Iranians were extremely rude which is almost always the case at Iranian restaurants. Our Iranian server left as I was ordering appetizers and came back a couple minutes later, and of course no apologies or anything. I asked her if we could get more bread, and she said "NO". Darya is definitely more expensive than most Iranian restaurants in LA. $11 for mast musir. Overall, Darya is a mediocre Iranian restaurant, nothing special. For better food, bigger portions and better prices go to Shamshiri or Raffi’s. Unfortunately, it is very difficult to find any Iranian restaurant with good service.

the food is good as usual , I am a regular customer. thanks god the homeless people are for the most part removed from the close vicinity to the restaurant , the reason I am writing this review is the poor service I had the last time I stoped for lunch , it wasn't busy at all , I entered the restaurant waited to be seated no one even acknowledge me! I didn't know wether I should stay or not! waiters were standing doing nothing, I would have liked a host to be ready to direct me to a seat , I noticed several times that there are no host/hostess in this place, in any event after a minutes or so I got an attention of a waiter among others standing there to give me a table, I was by myself. I have been to this place several times with friends and my dates as well but I cant say that this happened even though there are never a host.i sat down and ordered even though the waiter got to me late.keep in mind there were only 10 patrons in the restaurant max! anyhow I ordered my food. the waiter I believe was Pedro , we call him pedram , I think it was him since he had a mask on I wasn't sure but he was just fine not one time during my stay a waiter asked me if I needed anything els, I had to flag someone down and since my back was facing them it was hard to flag a waiter down, I needed other things, never had this experience before!! finally a waiter was taking someones else's order and passed by my table and I asked him if he could bring me what I wanted and he did. he wasn't even my waiter.and once I was done and my table was cleared I had to wait literally a good 15 to 20 min for them to bring me the bill, and that's because I was getting impatient and the waiter who was doing the napkins next to my table just behind me (the big round table)" noticed i am being totally ignored and am looking to pay, he went and got one of the waiters among other who were standing and talking instead of paying attention to their guest to come over and bring me the check!! initially I was in a good mood before I entered the restaurant I was gonna leave twice as much tip as customary which I normally do,!! before last time I was there with a friend for dinner and I left almost a 50% tip, just so you know.! but when I saw this kind of service I just put the minimum even less! ill try one more time and if I notice this kind of service again I will avoid coming...

This review has nothing to do with the food but an incident that happened on Fri 12/16. The food is OK, with the exception of Doogh being watered down. Regarding the incident, I self-debated for more than 24 hours as it wasn’t directly related to the restaurant; but as I think the waiter and the management could have done much better, I decided to post the review. I visited with my mom who wears scarf. There was a group of 4 ladies and a gentleman two tables across us, and when they were about to leave, one of the ladies approached us, cursed the current regime in Iran and said we (my mom) are killing the youth in Iran. As I was completely in shock I didn’t find the right words to reply and my mom became so upset that she was about to cry. This much I understand that it’s not Darya’s fault. But then that lady left, and the waiter hugged the remaining 3 ladies, passed a business card, and then wished them well. My personal opinion, or at least the way I would have acted, is that the management should have asked them to leave immediately if they were disrespectful towards other guests or harassed them. The manager came to apologize but it didn’t feel authentic. And then the waiter said his mom also wears hijab but I should understand that some people may have trauma from the situation in Iran. Seriously? I’m truly disappointed the way this incident was handled. We were on vacation from Texas, and this left a very bitter taste during our first day. And as it seems the group was a regular at this location, I’m hoping that they see this message and realize how shameful their...

Beautiful French interior, plenty free parking. Food wasn't all that and customer service and organisational skills were well below average. I do not consider the food delicious. My bone in chicken was ok, my barberry rice was below average and the Koobideh left to be desired. Homemade, panmade Koobideh is a lot more delicious than their beef Koobideh. However, their chicken koobideh was ok to good. I asked for "very well done grilled tomatoes, basically all black on the outside. Extra tomato, please. ". My tomatoes were not even cooked on the inside, they were raw on the inside and a little black on the outside. If a persian cook doesn't know how to serve juicy, well done tomatoes the chef pays NO attention to the quality served. I only got one tomato and asked for the extra tomato again and never received it. When we asked for the check it took a very long time (10+ mins) to receive it, we waited over 20 minutes for them to pick up the check. Eventually I got up and took the bill to the cash register. The cashier just looked at me without a response without a single word. So I waited and waited and waited. Eventually our waiter showed up and took our bill. I should have waited for the cash back - it took another 10 minutes. Our food needed over 20 minutes to cook, we were the only table that had ordered, all other tables ( 3) were already eating their main dish. The waiters never smiled at us, they were respectful but never smiled. If the customer service was better I would give them another shot (different order) but not with that...
