All three stars are for Sadem, who was a gracious and helpful salesperson. He was more than anxious to show us anything we wanted to see, and even spent considerable time contacting the other Istanbul Home stores for other rugs that might be more to our liking.
The rug we eventually bought I would give a single star to, and that only because the design is very pretty. But the rug itself, we discovered at home, is very poor quality. It's thin and is easily dislodged just by the cat walking across it. And though it was recommended to us as completely washable (it's cotton/silk), with one washing (dried flat) the edges on both sides are buckled and rippled. I don't have time to iron a rug nor to put books the length of the rug on both sides to flatten it.
The rug was $300, and I recently saw a runner of the same fabric and quality in a Marshall's store--for $15. That's a more reasonable price range for this rug.
