I went there 2 weeks ago; the place was empty, maybe for that reason the AC was off. But it was summer time! I went to the front desk to ask the girl there to please turn on the AC and she says she couldn’t leave her place. (Okkkkk) I even showed her my sweat on my face and back. Btw she have AC at the front. So she did not turn on the AC. We went back and like 4 parts of the exhibit had burnt out spotlight. I was so ashamed because my friend had to use the light of her phone to be able to appreciate the exhibition. I sent an email to the customer service and no one replied. And the end we felt strong formol smell. We had to leave sooner because was so uncomfortable being sweating there. The exposition is nice, but way overpriced for the awful maintenance they gave, worts even in a city where the best museums are mainly free and with cool AC. So save your money and stay away from...
Read moreVentured past the AMC movie theater on the Promenade to discover this interesting exhibit (across from Mexican cantina and next to Doc Martin near Wilshire).
The human form is amazing to behold! Exhibit takes you through the different systems of the body (cool Soccer player at the back). Diseased lungs were crazy to look at. I opted to go into the Pre-Natal room (it is curtained-off). There were embryos in different stages of development that I could have ogled at forever but others were waiting to have a close look as well.
Descriptive audio guides were informative. It was a reprieve to listen to the music and get out of the hot sun away from the shopping crowd. Bonus was putting on goggles to take a virtual reality trip through the human body. Even left my comments in an old-style paper bound book (with real ink pen) at the end.
All-in-all, a great addition to...
Read moreI saw this show many years ago in New York and was impressed but not so much this time. The presentation was good enough but prices are a little high and what is the the vip visit about. The place was empty, the receptionist was very polite and welcoming but I'm sure the place would have been more well attended with parents bringing their children. My grandchildren were in town and thought they should attend but $86 for the 3 of us for one hour + $8 each if we want to see/hear the 5 minute movie, in this time of inflation, not good value for money. Plus don't forget parking. I don't recommend. Could have missed it...
