Felt like having Mexican food for the first time in a while, thought that since they where in such a spectacular location the food and the service would also be spectacular, but that was not the case on our visit for 2 people this past Sunday night 11/21/21. Iam not one to put a place or person down just to make them look bad but this is what transpired:
Started with being seated at our table, they have a large table exactly at the entrance with tortilla chips under a heat lamp and salsa in a large bowl of ice with utensils all over, plastic containers for doggie bags and plastic bags hanging on the wall.
Appetizer: Chips and salsa chips were cold and not fresh, salsa watered down.
Drinks: Margarita Supreme $22, non-alcoholic Strawberry Margarita $8
Main Course: Shrimp fajitas $32 requested with no cheese,no sour cream. And Vegetable Tostada Salad $22 Requested with no cheese, no sour cream.
They brought the shrimp fajita with cheese on the red beans and a big blob of sour cream next to the pico de gallo, guacamole and red rice, we called the waiter over to assist us with the issue and to change the red beans to black beans. The waiter took the plate and brought back a bowl of black beans, pico de gallo, guac, and replaced the red rice to white rice for who knows what reason. My husband gave up on asking for assistance from the waiter as to why he made the extra changes, to prevent anyone possible spitting or putting something else in the food for making too much request. His food was tasteless and bland. My Vegetable tostada salad was definitely unique topped with steamed broccoli, cauliflower flower, carrots which I did not care for at all. Under that was lettuce, white rice, black beans, guac, and pico de gallo. After clearing away the steamed veges from the tostada bowl the salad was ok.
The main waitress brought our check right after we finished eating still with all our used plates on the table not even asking us if we might want dessert before bringing the check. I looked the bill over $107.74 for very bland not so authentic Mexican Food, not from a cheap point but I was definitely shocked which included a 18% Service charge $15+ change that they automatically put in the bill without notifying you about prior. This place is definitely over priced for no reason. It’s more for tourists who don’t know much about...

Walking into the restaurant, the ambiance was electric, buzzing with the excitement of football fans ready for the big game. The staff greeted us with warm smiles and ushered us to our seats, which offered fantastic views of multiple screens broadcasting the action from every angle.
Let's talk about the food – oh, the food! It was like a playbook of culinary delights designed to satisfy every craving. From classic game day favorites like loaded nachos and buffalo wings to gourmet sliders and artisanal pizzas, every bite was a flavor touchdown. And let's not forget the halftime show – the spread of appetizers was enough to rival any end zone celebration!
The drink selection was a game changer too. From ice-cold beers to handcrafted cocktails, there was something for everyone to raise a toast to their team's success.
But what truly set this apart was the impeccable service. Despite the hustle and bustle of game day, our servers were attentive, friendly, and went above and beyond to ensure we had everything we needed to enjoy the game to the fullest.
And when the final whistle blew, the energy in the restaurant was electric. High-fives, cheers, and hugs – strangers felt like long-lost friends united in the joy of the game.

Read moreWe'd heard a lot about the quality of Mexican food in LA, and found Casa Martin purely out of chance one lunchtime. On a weekday it was quite quiet, with only 3 other parties dining in the restaurant. It is very nicely decorated, however I must add that the chairs we sat on were fairly dirty, and we were provided with an additional set of cutlery, which is unprofessional. Everyone at lunch service was being served by the manager/owner, and he was very hospitable and took genuine interest in catering for our tastes in every manner. He offered samples of certain sauces/dishes which we were uncertain about, and gave us the time we needed to consider our choices. This was certainly necessary given the wide ranging menu. I would add that the menu felt difficult to read through and lacked clarity in its formatting. I opted for the chicken fajitas. The food came quickly, and I was immediately struck by the generous portion size. It all tasted great, particularly the guacamole. On the flip side I would criticise the presentation of the refried beans, as it did not look particularly appetising when simply poured over half of the plate. A bowl would suffice. But after what was a very enjoyable meal, we asked for the bill, and were surprised to see that an 18% auto-gratuity fee had already been charged. This would be tolerable if we were not then prompted for an additional tip immediately after. I believe this is misleading, and some less attentive customers may easily mistake the additional tip for the normal service charge which is expected in most US restaurants. I still think this is a solid 4 star restaurant, however, with great food and a passionate host. With its convenient location in Santa Monica, it's definitely...
