Asian Market — Local services in Santa Rosa

I've been shopping here for years, but I don't think I'm coming back. The ladies are great, but the old guy behind the counter is a customer service lose. NEVER offers assistance and when asked behaves like he can't be bothered. I came in looking for some Patak's garlic relish; they don't carry it, so I thought I'd pick up a bottle of chili oil, just to give some patronage. The old man wanted cash only; said he'd charge me a dollar to put it on my card. No thank you. Keep your oil. I recommend Phnom Penh Market instead, just up the street. Much better rapport...

From the outside you tend to think this is a Mexican market, but upon entering you see that it's an Asian "general market". So you will find common ingredients for Thai, Vietnamese, Korean, etc. The store is a bit cramped, as space is tight so aisles are narrow. The produce looked good quality, they had Thai basil which I was looking for, as well as Korean rice cakes for tteokguk. This is the best place for fresh Asian vegetables in Santa Rosa. Very friendly, helpful and knowledgeable staff. The prices are as low as any Chinese market in San Francisco and Oakland. I have been to all the other Asian markets in Santa Rosa and this one consistently keeps the refrigerator full of fresh good looking vegetables that you can not find at local supermarkets. I shop...
