This location needs to be condemned. When AMC bought this they didn't even visit the location. They didn't put a singer dollar into it except for changing The branding on the building so it says AMC. It's in serious need of money being put into it in and a company that actually cares about the safety of its customers to own it.... I mean honestly I would be embarrassed if I was somebody higher up in AMC.... The building is in really bad shape, horrible lighting, the climate control is so wildly inaccurate depending on where you go in the building. Have the seats are busted up and broken...oh here's the big one. there is the absolutely bare minimum of water pressure in the bathroom, it like trickles out it's absolutely horrible. which probably means employees aren't properly or if at all washing their hands. I've sent emails to corporate and I get generic scripted, emotionless, humanless, responses, and Nothing changes, infact each time things seem a little worse. the last time I was there the staff now matches the condition of the bulding. They were was an absolute joke. which now adding that to the experience of visiting this location... I now drive 45 minutes to use Cinemark instead of driving 15 minutes to go to this hazardous location. Everybody from like the regional level down needs replaced in this company, or at least that oversees this location.... I mean honestly I think the entire company just needs to pack up shop and call it a day because they're not doing anything to improve their locations and they don't seem to take any pride in anything that they do. Do yourself a favor take the drive up to montage mountain to Cinemark there's recliners, it's clean you don't have to worry about any health food safety violation and they have...
Read moreThe Cinema Center in Bloomsburg play the sound pretty loud so if you have hearing issues this would be the theater for you. There seats are fairly comfortable and they have drink holders on the arms of the seats. That is the pluses.
The minuses--- Their prices suck--- matinees are still expensive--$7.50 a ticket last time I was there. If you have a family going to the movies can cost $30 just for tickets- and kids always want a drink or popcorn. Cinema Center doesn't allow outside food bring brought in. Last time I was at CC a bucket of popcorn and a large drink was $15. You can get a free refill but who in the heck eats two or three gallons of popcorn at one time? Their candy boxes were $3 to $4 ---for the same candy you can get for a buck anyplace else. They used to offer seasonings to shake on your popcorn for free but now they don't do that-- if you want seasoned popcorn you have to buy it. They spend pennies to buy the popcorn and soda syrup and the markup is beyond incredible when you consider the fact that they charge $15 or maybe more for a bucket of popcorn and a drink.
I avoid going to the Cinema Center for these reasons--- I prefer to go to the Berwick Theater. They are closed M&T every week but admission is $4 and W night is BOGO ticket night. Their popcorn prices are reasonable too. It is an old theater and the seats aren't comfortable but I would much rather spend my money there. And it is locally owned which is a...
Read moreUnfortunately had a bad experience at this movie theater. I went and had preordered three popcorn bucket packages ahead of time to make sure i got it and drove over an hour out of my way to receive it. As soon as we got there they told us they had sold out in the afternoon. We were told we can get a refund with attitude and they were basically no help. Why was there no email beforehand stating that they were sold out and can’t fulfill our order? Why even have a preorder system if it’s not even a guarantee that you will get the item? We had to drive out of our way to only be disappointed when I could’ve easily drove only 20 minutes instead of only an hour. Then we went to our theater but there were no 3D glasses waiting outside or inside ready for our movie and no one said anything when we picked up our tickets about the glasses. Not only that but the theater was filthy. I completely understand it being possible short times for cleaning but it could be kept nicer as in no popcorn and snack wrappers laying on the floor. Hopefully customer service is more help than the workers. (I do understand that the workers can only do so much and I was as nice as I can because it’s out of their control but the attitude was unnecessary and there is a better way to handle the situation. I do understand how difficult it can be since I work in the customer service...
