Unfortunate experience. I understand Sundays are busy for them but the front end staff clearly did not know what they were doing. All parties, regardless of size, were being quoted the same wait time - our party of 5 was quoted a 20 minute wait, same as the table of 2 ahead of us. The staff at the front end seemed frazzled and unsure how to calculate their wait times, the hostess looked like a deer in headlights every time she was asked for a table by a customer.
After still not being sat at 50 minutes the hostess, who never acknowledged us waiting before, asked if we wanted to sit at the bar while we wait. We told her no, but we were agitated as we were quoted 20 minutes and it was well past 50 minutes at this time and people after us were still being sat (no reservation and understandably smaller parties but they had been quoted the same wait time).
In my opinion this is extremely poor customer service and a clear indication of the need for additional training for their hostesses/front end staff. It is common sense when you have differing numbers of tables that accommodate only 2 people, 4 people, or 5+ people you do not quote the same wait time to each party - a party of 5 cannot be sat at a smaller table, but a party of 2 can be sat at a table capable of accommodating 4+ people.
Such a situation could have been completely avoidable and saved the inconvenience of a waisted hour wait. Customers need to be able to judge if they need to go elsewhere for service based upon their schedule as well. When we were told they only had a booth for four and explained my situation that I could wait nolonger as I needed to pick up a child and to please seat the remainder of my party (we were next to be seated after a wait 3x as long as quoted) staff continued to be ignorant to the remaining people in my party which lost them additional business.
I will not be returning anytime soon. Please ensure your staff receive better training in customer service. It is currently leaves much...
Read moreWe went on Sunday, it's half price sushi, so expectations weren't very high. They were busy, and we waited about 40min for our food, which with the business they were doing, wasn't a big deal. During our wait they brought my daughter's food out while the wife and I still waited. Pretty standard practice, however they never changed menus when new ownership took over so instead of chicken tenders my daughter received a semi soggy sliced panko chicken breast. No soup or salad, which the menu still has listed with the kids meal. I paid extra for the soup. We received our sushi and the server put it down, didn't bother to bring plates (we were sharing) and didn't say which roll was which. None of this was too bad, again they were busy and I get it that they were pumping out food. The sushi was bad, it was mostly paste, where they had taken finely chopped fish and mixed it with bread crumb to stretch it out and give it more volume in the roll. Right, it's half priced sushi, but prior to Oliran changing management, they were surprisingly generous. It was bland, and hard to tell one roll from the other flavor wise. I ordered a white tuna roll, which in any other sushi place I've dined at is Escolar, since there isn't such a thing as white tuna. Escolar contains a fat that isn't soluble to humans so it's labeled white tuna. I will eat my hat if what they served me wasn't canned albacore tuna in the white tuna roll. I asked the server, she told me it was just chopped tuna, well it was chopped, but that didn't account for it being white, flaky, clearly cooked, and the unmistakable canned tuna flavor. She told me should would take off the check, that didn't happen. Overall it was one of the most disappointing dining experiences I've had in...
Read moreI ate here and got food poisoning! Upon sitting down, we never got menus and had to ask for them. I ordered lobster and Filet mignon hibachi with a side of scallops. The soup and salad was brought to the table and there was about 2 inches of dressing with a half a bowl is lettuce floating in it. The soup was the best part of my entire visit! The server brought half the tables order to us saying sorry the kitchen was backed up. I started eating my food. After eating about 4 pieces of my cut up lobster, I couldn't shake the taste. My lobster tasted and smells weird, like a fishy trout. I eat lobster all the time and know what it is and isn't suppose to smell and taste like. The noodles in my hibachi were so bland and tasted like oil and that's even after asking for them to have extra teriyaki sauce. I told the server my issues and she just brought me a large bowl of teriyaki sauce. I ate a few scallops and then realized they were off as well. I told the server that everything was off and she gave me $5.00 off my $100+ bill .... like seriously my meal was completely inedible! Within a half hour to an hour I started to getting very ill. Today is now Monday, and I'm still suffering from the effects from Saturday nights dinner from hell!! Beware if you go here. You were warned! (Side note: a friend didn't believe I got sick here so they went and ate there last night. They messaged this morning they they were up all night with diarrhea.) And I ASKED the server for a manager and the manager never came. Like I said before, I was told the server was to take a discount of $5.00 off my $100+ bill! You...
