Ollie's Bargain Outlet — Local services in Scottsboro

Ollie's in Scottsboro is my favorite Ollie's to shop and I live in Huntsville. The store is full of great deals, but more importantly, it's well organized and the employees are ALWAYS more than willing to help you find whatever you're looking for!! The manager(no joke-the manager) will greet you with a smile and a friendly hello/welcome and 9 times out of 10, he'll check in with you to make sure that you're finding whatever you came for, offering his assistance before you've even had the chance to find and ask him a question!! The employees are very knowledgeable about the areas or departments that they stock on a regular basis, especially the young lady in the book department. And I have to mention that the man with the long hair is a HUGE asset to ALL of the checkouts and is definitely the reason that things run so smoothly in that area. Every time I've shopped there, he not only is running a register at the speed of light himself, but without fail, goes and helps at least one if not two other cashiers with any bumps they encounter along the way at their registers. He knows the department numbers, etc. like the back of his hand. I doubt he's being paid a manager's salary, but in my opinion, he should be compensated a LOT more than the other cashiers. If you get a chance to shop this Ollie's, you definitely should. Just know that from then on, you'll be fitting an Ollie's shopping trip into your itinerary whenever you go to or through...

Ollies is a discount outlet store. Ollies buys old items of inventory from stores, and wholesalers dumping inventory that has not sold as desired. Ollie's slogan, "Good stuff cheap" is primarily true. Not everything in the store is "Good Stuff" and not everything is "Cheap." Many of the items I have considered were only slightly less than other sellers. The items I have purchased were significantly less than other sellers within the local shopping area. Like most discount stores these days, Ollie's items are strategically priced to be just a bit less than the market place. It appears the items significantly lower, are items only purchased by occasional shoppers with a particular need. The items that are actually, "Good stuff cheap", are items that tend to sit in inventory longer than most. I never saw such a mess as with the men's t-shirts. None of them were on the correct hangers or sections. All the smalls and mediums were mixed in all over the place. Every time I managed to find a large, it was on the wrong hanger. It would turn out to be only a small or medium shirt. There were virtually no large t-shirts. I literally had to look through each one, which was about 35 to 45 shirts, to find only four large shirts. And one was mislabeled at the plant because when I tried it on, it was a tight medium.
