I purchased my first boat from Greg a couple of months ago. He was very helpful at the start of the purchase. It was almost time for the boat show, so I feel like once I was approved, I was put on the back burner on the boat going through service and detailing to get the boat. Once we set a time to pick up the boat and take it on the test ride, I showed up the boat looked was still being detailed. As we did another walk around, it had a strong smell of fuel in the compartments. My ignorance/excitement of my first boat, I took his word that service had replaced a fuel line and it was not to be anthing to worry about. After having the boat in storage, with all the compartments opened for over a month, the boat still had a bad fuel smell. I took the boat out on the lake and within 2 to 3 hours on the water. The engine started smoking on start-up. I took it to the nearest shop to get looked. It was found out that one of the fuel tanks had a crack in it cause it to leak almost 30 gallons. I called Greg to ask to see what all fuel issues they fixed, just to get some service history. Instantly, I feel he became defensive, saying we wouldn't have sold you a boat with a cracked fuel tank. Can't say if they knew it was cracked or not, but you would think they would want to help a customer with a boat they just sold. All I got was one call from service. He said he would call me back and never did. Long story short, I wouldn't buy a boat from this place again. If you do have it inspected by a...
Read moreWell, 2nd update once I posted favorable review, Do NOT buy a used boat from coastline, I bought a blue wave 24 ft purebay, complained from day one that motor had no power, started fine but at WOT it would not exceed 30 mph. I thought I fixed the issue as I replaced all plugs (one I had to chip away at crust to even get socket on plug), replaced entire fuel system as it was corroded and leaking, (fuel pump, all filters and other components), well boat still had no power, I finally took it to Ron Hoover in SA, certified Suzuki repair center, they did a compression test and told me motor needed rebuilt, compression was 122 or less in all cylinders, they should have been around 180-190, thus lack of power. Eventually talked to marine owner who stated “my team runs compression test on all used engines, and it is video taped” I asked him how in the he’ll did they run a compression test on a motor that had a blown plug? Again I stated that I had to chip black crust off plug to even get a socket on it, NO way they did a compression test on it. He stated they would try to compensate me for labor on my engine replacement, nothing herd!!! Been over a month, I am taking them to court, they had a chance to make it right, Do NOT buy from this marine dealer, they are the most dishonest business I have ever dealt with!!! I purchased a 70,000...
Read morePurchased a used Shallow Sport 25x3 from Coastline. My Salesman was Greg Walker and he did an exceptional job. I drove 1100 miles to pick up this boat and I found the gel coat to be in not perfect shape. Greg told me to take it to a detailer near me and assured me he would take care of the bill.
Herein lies the the above and beyond service. My detailer pointed out damage to the hull that had not been seen due to it being hidden by a bunk. You could just see about 1/2” of the damage. We had it lifted off the trailer and found significant damage. Greg told the previous owner and he denied doing any damage to the boat. This put me in quite a pickle and I did not feel that I should eat this cost. Greg felt the same way and took care of the $5000 repair bill. UNBELIEVABLE!
I will consider them again if I ever have the need for another boat....
