First, I want to make it clear that this rating does not reflect my overall experience or have anything to do with our Property Management Team. As a resident here for 6 years I am very disappointed in the lighting fixtures you added to the property two months ago that shine directly into our homes. I cannot comprehend that when you were planning this project that not one of you took a step back and said maybe we should not install lights that go directly into our residents living room, bedroom and balcony. How would you feel if at your home someone installed multiple bright lights that project directly into your living area? If I want to hang out on my balcony: bright light in my face. Sitting on my couch: bright light in my face. Laying in my bedroom: bright light in my face. Itâs such a shame that all the money you put into the complex, patience of the residents and hard work from the contractors, maintenance and office staff to upgrade this property the last few years and make it a great place to live was completely undone by one terrible decision that should have never been on the table in the first place. From a business standpoint how are you expecting to retain and bring in new tenants when word gets around that itâs the complex that shines light into your occupants living space? This is the first time I even considered moving from here only because of this addition. Itâs the most miserable I have ever been at this location. To add more lighting to the walkways you needed to either put light posts in the ground or find reasonable lighting fixtures at the bottom level where the place youâre trying to light is at. You donât put them at the highest point to where they are directed at the walls where our living room, bedrooms and balconies are located. You couldâve made the landscape look really great with the right fixtures, but you chose the ones that in my opinion has made the property look cheap and ugly. You completely got rid of the natural night light in this complex. Who wants to live in a place that is lit up with light all the time? Curtains and our blinds canât even block out all the obnoxious light that is coming in which has negatively affected my sleep and overall quality of life. I understand from a financial standpoint that it's going to be difficult to go back on what has already been purchased and done but itâs hard to feel sorry about it just on the basis that it should have never been an option. I have already talked to the office about my feelings about them. We were also told we could write an email of our concerns and unhappiness about the lighting that was supposed to be sent to you. I have not heard anything back on what measures will be taken. I am not the only resident that feels this way. I personally would like the lights turned off until a new plan is developed that can safely light up the ground area without having my privacy invaded. There is nothing you can reply that would make me agree that the actions you took with these lights were a good option. Itâs inexcusable. You just simply do not shine lights into our homes. Please correct this mistake so I can go back to enjoying my time here as a resident of Pirates Landing. See pictures below and tell me how this...
Read moreThis place is garbage. It took MONTHS to fix my collapsing balcony, my non-working stove, the ice machine from Hades, ANY of the outlets in the kitchen, the broken patio door, the sink in my bathroom still only runs cold water, the five, yes, FIVE leaks in the roof, where EVERY time it rained during hurricane season, the water spots in the ceiling of my bedroom, bathroom and dining room grew with each downpour and not to mention, what looked like, black mold that I eventually found growing in my storage closet.
When I asked if I could transfer, they seemed helpful enough, but I work anywhere from 10-14 hours on a daily basis for weeks at a time, so when I went in to sign my transfer form, they had rented out the apartment with a view of that water that I was supposed to move to that would have made up for everything listed above. Now, the apartment they're transferring me to doesn't have a view but it is seemingly on the quieter side of the complex. Which brings me to Cabo. That "club" gets so loud on Friday and Saturday nights that not only can you not sleep, the vibrations from their sound system shakes the windows. When I brought it up to the office, the told me they've never received any complaints before. I'm sure.
To the straw that broke the camel's back: as I mentioned, I work...a lot, and I don't often get many mornings to sleep in and this morning, on one of my few mornings off in weeks, I didn't get to sleep in either. One of the apartments on the first floor (I live on the third floor) burst and they sent out a team to take care of this emergency. Now, this is far from a quiet process, but this was actually pretty surprising to me, the timely manner in which they're trying to fix this issue, but I point it out because it speaks to the overall condition of this dilapidated apartment complex. There was no freeze notice sent out, no notice to run your faucets, so of course something like this was bound to happen. BUYER BEWARE: Again, this speaks to the overall condition and managed maintenance of the complex. One of my first weeks here, the railing to the staircase leading up to the second floor became COMPLETELY DETATCHED, there are stray cats running around everywhere, it looks like they've been remodeling since Harvey and they say they have security cameras on property in certain areas, but when I asked if they could check the tapes to see who tried to break into my car because handle had been broken and a dent had been put in my hood, I was told they didn't have cameras where I was parked. I had parked by the front office. Due to getting off late in the evening after working a 12+ hour day, there isn't enough parking for actual residents anytime after about 8-10PM, so I'm often times forced to park outside the security gate which is often left open (on the side, at least).
I've had it. I'm fed up. The person who rented this unit to me said, "I don't know why we haven't rented this unit yet." Well, I now know why. I would like out of my lease, not to mention be compensated in some way for the MONTHS of inconsideration. Staff of Pirate's Landing, ask yourself, if you'd experienced what I've experienced at your apartment complex, would you have put up with any of it and...
Read more#609 Let me start with THERE IS NO PARKING!! Good luck. Adara Community has let us down completely!! Kim can care less about anyone! We tried paying rent and they denied us because I have posted and complained how we have been treated the whole time since Brittney has been in office. MOST of these reviews are from workers who live in the complex starting with Kyra-She was the ONLY person in office that spoke with patience and compassion. AMarissa thinks she's too good for anyone there which is beyond hilarious. She works there. They pretend to care until you get in and after that it's a horrible experience! There is 3 different molds in the apartment never got offered a different unit! Which in the lease they're supposed to be taking care of certain needs. We lived in right by water so of course the view is amazing but worse apartments to enjoy the sea life. Majority of people smoke in the pool or the veranda and don't care if kids are around. Even smoke illegal stuff and not one time does the office do anything. There isn't supposed to be dogs in the pool area yet those people that came AFTER us (WE LIVED HERE 3 years) but been there years and cool with Brittney think they can get away with anything or telling people stuff. Don't bother bringing your family over cause those same people with act like they own the place and start their little kid crap. Cops are always in the complex as well. I have pictures of every single thing since living there. From mold, apartment flooding and the only thing worth staying there is the view but what good is it if you go back into ur home and itâs covered in mold or something is messed up.i have pictures of mold, dogs in the pool area and pitt bulls which im a dog lover and donât have anything against any type of dog but how do we know the owners train them to be kind?! Pictures of people smoking in the pool area and cigarettes buds floating, people smoking weed in the area and they do it on a every day basis. Theyâll stop for a bit especially when someone complained but then goes back at it again. e in for any reason. They fine you for everything even when everyone around throws trash out the door at least mind was put nice and neat outside. THERES NO PARKING, EVER!!!! I've had to park across the street before and Brittney's response was what can she do about the parking, okay maybe be smart about the parking, start towing cars that don't belong in the complex. People park there and go next door to the bars. Brittney claimed the apartment was hot because we lived by the water! I LIVED OFF THE BEACH IN GALVESTON FOR 5 years and NEVER had an issue with my AC . And also my previous landlord can say I was a great tenant! But even then they didn't send us blinds til 4 months in the lease. Didn't get a working dishwasher til right before we left. Wasn't because we got an eviction but because we didn't deserve the stuff done to us, my daughter and get treated the way we did. Hopefully they get the right inspections done and not someone they pay off. Those apartments need to be demolished. They care about fixing the outside and making it seem like it's something it's not. Nor care about the tenants they hurt in...
