This is my review on Cliff Jones and not the Mahindra brand:
I would just like to share my experience. If you are looking for outstanding service, keep driving into Houston or to Navasota. This place has the WORST customer service i have ever had. I was in the market for a new tractor and had spent the day going to numerous dealerships including Kabota, Case, John Deere, and Kioti. I had heard about Mahindra but was very unfamiliar. On my way home from Brenham i stopped at Cliff Jones. The salesman Renee met me outside. I was impressed by that. That was the only dealership that did that. Unfortunately that is where the good stops. Renee was a great salesman, but knew little about the product. I was unsure about this brand, but was sold on their (Mahindra) service and warranty and not having any special diesel emissions. I pulled out my checkbook and paid in full $26.XXX.XX. You would think for that kind of money a manager or owner would say thank you for spending your money. Nope. Renee said thanks and I got 2 hats and left without a tractor. They said they were going to do a "inspection" of the tractor and to come back in a week. Came back and had some weird walk through with the mechanic. Super cool dude. I liked him. Finished up and I left with my tractor. Still no thank you or anything from a manager or GM. Beginning to think 26k is not a lot of money to these folks. When I got my machine home, about 40 miles away, a hub cover on my trailer had already fallen off and 3 cotter pins had either fallen off or was never there. I called about the hub cover and they replaced it. However, i had to make an 80 mile round trip to pick it up. that was my 1st experience with their "service". Ran 1 tank a fuel through my machine and found the fuel indicator was not working. Less than 9 hours on my machine and already an issue. No big deal, things happen. Now comes the part on why I will never recommend this place. I called messaged my salesman about my fuel gauge(10/30). He said he was contacting service at 10:30am. After no response I messaged again, only to be told all my salesman did was leave a note for them to call me. I ended up calling and talking to a Mike. He told me worst case scenario my tractor would be in the shop for 2 weeks. yes 2 weeks. unacceptable. I called back the next day and spoke with Andy. He said they wouldn't know anything until I brought the tractor in. Ok whats another 80 mile round trip right? I bring it in(11/1), and again not met by anyone in management. The cool mechanic that I spoke with hopped on the tractor and had it diagnosed quickly. The instrument panel was bad. Said he would order the parts, and part pick up should be Friday. I called Friday (11/3) to check to see if my parts were in and spoke with Andy. He said the parts were not in yet and should be in at 2pm. I asked to be called either way before the end of the day. He said he would call, but not to worry because" at least you can still use your tractor." Again the over all lack of concern for someone that just spent a good chunk of their hard earned money there. If anyone knows anything about machines, you do not run them if your instrument panel is not working. If this item was not important it would not be on your machine. Needless to say, I have not received any communication from ANYONE at this dealership. Had I know it would be like this, i would have taken my business and money else where. This tractor is not a recreational tractor. This is my business. So in closing, today 11/9 still no phone call, still no concern that this is a BRAND NEW TRACTOR, stay far far far far far away...
Read moreIf customer service is important to you, DO NOT buy an RV from this dealer. We paid cash for a brand new Forest River RPOD. Our walk through consisted of someone pointing out features. We took it home and I assembled all the appliances myself in 100 degree temperature because all the plastic was still in place and the refrigerator's insides were still in pieces. I had to sit on the floor with the instruction manual to put it together. We took it out on our first trip and discovered the toilet was not even hooked up. A plug was in the water line and a piece was missing. It took both hands and my full body weight to close the door on the camper. We took it back to have it checked on the advice of the salesman and the lady in the service department was rude and made the comment that salesman should never tell anyone that unless he checked with her first. We contacted the salesman again and his response was "The door will be hard to close if the trailer is not level" Excuse me!!! We always level the trailer in ALL directions and the door does not close easily. After not getting any satisfaction from the service dept. at Cliff Jones RV, we took our RPOD to another Forest River Dealer. They went through it, made all necessary repairs and FIXED the door. There were screws stripped out from the factory and they did the repairs. I now can close the door with one FINGER instead of both hands. In talking to the people in the service dept. at our NEW dealer and telling them our experiences, we were told that our trailer did not have a PRE DELIVERY INSPECTION or we would NOT had so many issues. After many calls expressing our dissatisfaction, we got a message that they would be willing to "PUT US in another trailer" Of course it was a more expensive one that would require us to give them more money. When my husband asked for the amount they would give us for our trailer and final figures he was told they would "Get back to us" That was a week ago.....no word from them. EDIT TO ORIGINAL!!!! Your response is to call you to discuss further. We have called many times with no response or satisfaction....only excuses and no returned call. It is not my job to call you back again. You have had plenty of opportunity over the last 2 months to make things right. If you read my original post you will see that we got no call back the last time. Either from...
Read moreRecently I was in the market for a 30 to 40 HP midsized tractor. I did my due diligence and researched the major manufactures. At the end it came down to the Kubota L3901 and the Mahindra 2638. So I reached out to friend of mine that sells Kubota, told him I wanted a price on the L33901 frontend loader with a box blade and a grappler attachment. I then contacted Cliff Jones Mahindra and spoke with Henry Skinner. I asked Henry to give me a price on the Mahindra 2638 with the same exact implements. Of course wanting to get as close of a comparison between the two tractors as possible. The Kubota had one more HP than the Mahindra, other than that, everything else was the same.
Henry came back with a much better price on the Mahindra than my friend did on the Kubota. I sent the quote Henry gave me over to my friend to see what they could do, they couldn't touch it price wise. He said that Mahindra was cheap because they are made cheap. I asked him what made them cheap and how is the Kubota better than the Mahindra. I wanted to give my friend the business, but couldn't tell me one thing how the Kubota was a better tractor, other than they weren't built cheap.
I called Henry (Not giving him the price of the Kubota quote) and just asked him why should I pick the Mahindra over the Kubota. He gave me more details on the Mahindra over the Kubota than I can type. But, just to share the two most important to me.. Mahindra has a 7 year drivetrain warranty and a 2 year bumper to bumper, Kubota, just two years period. The Mahindra has more all around lifting capacity than the Kubota. The Kubota dealership is 20 minutes from my house, Cliff Jones Mahindra is an hour and a half. I made the drive to Cliff Jones and purchased the Mahindra ...!!
Henry Skinner is a great salesman from start to finish and he never displeased once. He is very knowledgeable when it comes to tractors and doesn't beat around the bush with BS sales tactics. Everything I asked for price negotiation wise he didn't hesitate to try and make it happen. All I can hope for at this point is that the service department will treat me as good as Henry and the sales department did. I recommend to anyone in the market for a tractor, mower or side by side to call Henry and give him a chance at earning your business, you won't be...
