Super 8 by Wyndham Sealy — Hotel in Sealy

Better suited to workers. There was lots of those. CONS

1. Received phone call asking if I was still coming. I have never had that done in all our travels! It left me with an unsettling feeling. Gentleman explained why. His reasoning was acceptable but still not liking it happened.
2. The room (king non-smoking) I reserved and paid for the lock won’t work. I was switched rooms.
3. I was having trouble getting in original room, after few minutes here comes gentleman from front desk, “let me help you” As my husband said how did he know you had issues?! As we were at corner room at other end of hotel. Creepy feeling
4. Switched to room with two beds. It smelled moldy.
5. Dirty towel on towel rack
6. Room was not cleaned properly. There was dirt and dead bugs. There was pill behind night stand.
7. The grass in front of hotel not mowed. It wasn’t mowed behind, either. Trash and cigarette butts everywhere. There were no cigarette butt receptacles.
8. No breakfast because of COVID in May 2022!!! I think your rooms should be cleaned to COVID standards then. Also cups in room not wrapped. I have no idea if new ones were put out based on room not thoroughly cleaned.
9. The musty smell never was better even with a/c on. Though it was worse if off.
10. I pre-paid room but was asked for my CC. I didn’t give it. I did give DL as that is normal request.
11. Late night fight/partying that woke me. I went to bed at 11 pm.
12. I had to unplug clock/alarm at 2 am. I couldn’t stop it from making weird noises.

16. Gentleman during check in was nice.
17. Shower pressure was good
18. Checked out beds (lifted up covers/sheets), no evidence of bed bugs

It wasn’t horrible. I expect better for a place that is By Wyndham! It is the reason I chose places “by Wyndham”

What I received I expect from a much cheaper hotel.

It does look like repairs are being made based on wheel barrel full of debris at bottom of steps.

Again it wasn’t horrible but definitely needs to be better. If you travel and stay in many hotels you understand why I say it...

Literally the worst hotel to stay in the city of sealy. We were greeted with a group meeting of cockroaches 🪳as we walked in. We killed the group and thought we would be safe, but the rest of the night cockroaches 🪳 kept coming to show their head. By the time I was fed up which was around 2am I had only checked in at 11pm, and had to be to work for 6 I decided to shower and prepare to leave. Went to parking lot had a mysterious flat tire 🛞 . Went into the office to show video and picture of the visitors the office clerk got up pretended to look through paper work and never responded to me about a refund or at least a discount I had to leave as to not be late for work.I called once I got to work to see how we can resolve the issue they declined to give me a refund and said they didn’t care if I posted about it or called health department or BBB so I intend on doing all three starting here with this review. Enjoy the pictures and videos I will be adding. Also complimentary breakfast used to be waffles and eggs all kinds of juice and snacks now they serve cereal either Frosted Flakes or Raisin Bran only orange juice and two luke warm canisters of coffee. My recent stay at the Wyndham 8 in Sealy, Texas, was incredibly disappointing. Upon entering the room, it was clear that cleanliness was not a priority. The floors were visibly dirty, which immediately made me question the overall hygiene of the space.

The most appalling part of my experience came the next morning when I went to take a shower. The bathtub was filthy—coated in slime and clearly not cleaned prior to my arrival. To make matters worse, the drain was severely clogged, leaving me standing in water throughout my shower.

When I called the front desk to report these issues, I was met with indifference. It took over 30 minutes for anyone to address my concerns, and even then, there were no genuine apologies or attempts at providing acceptable customer service. I had to personally communicate with the housekeeping staff because the front desk failed to relay my complaints effectively.

This lack of professionalism and basic standards of cleanliness is unacceptable. I would not recommend staying at this location until significant improvements are made in both cleanliness and...
