So I came to Nouvelle since I recently moved into the neighborhood and wanted to give them a try as I will be getting my nails done a ton this year as my wedding year. I came today to get my nails done before my engagement photoshoot tomorrow, and I’m extremely disappointed and a little worried that my nails will show too much in photos. I went with a simple French since it was my first time and I thought it was a safe option for my photo shoot tomorrow but now I’m debating removing it completely and repairing it myself. I paid $50 for these acrylic with regular polish, and the nail lengths are different on each hand, the thickness of the white tip is different throughout the hand, the white wasn’t properly removed so there white streaks outside of the line, there’s tons of gaps on the side that didn’t get painted, and the top coat is a weird bumpy consistency that shows in photos. I’ve had issues before at salons where 1 nail isn’t perfect or a small imperfection on one nail, but I don’t think I’ve ever disliked my nails completely after getting them done, which is definitely unfortunate before a photo shoot. I’m sad that my local nail salon has been my worst experience yet.

You get what you pay for. Got a shellac manicure after the place was recommended by a co-worker. On the plus side, the total for the whole thing was 32 plus tip which for Seattle standards is awesome. Staff were very friendly. Side note that they charge an additional 5 or 10 dollars for certain shellac colors. Downsides, it was only two thin coats and took an hour and a half. Got home and realized that they sanded down my nails so much that they are bendy and fragile. After my shower one nail frayed and the polish chipped almost completely off. Update: Called the next morning and went back after work. They repaired the nail (albeit had to wait 30 min and the timing under UV was rushed) - with three layers. Very nice about the situation and did not charge. Again, the staff were very nice but I won't be going back. I'll pay the extra 10 dollars somewhere else for nails that will be more durable and well done.

I really wanted to love my visit to P&G Nails, but my manicure felt super rushed and rough by Kim. My cuticles were cut too deep (one bled and had to be cleaned multiple times) and the clear polish was messy - it was all over the skin around my nails and I ended up removing it afterward. That said, the tech who did my pedicure (wish I caught her name - she had a cute flower tattoo on her arm) was great! So gentle and kept checking in throughout. And to their credit, they offered a discount without me saying anything, which I really appreciated - a nice gesture that showed they care about making things right. I hope this helps them slow down a bit though. In my experience, that’s what keeps people coming back. For now, I’ll probably stick with Apollo Nails since I’ve always had consistently thoughtful, detail-oriented service there.

Unfortunately, this salon is getting steadily worse. I left feeling terrible, which is the exact opposite of my hope for a little bit of care and human help feeling good.

I've been here several times, and this is easily the worst. I made an appointment on their online system, and upon entry was treated like it didn't exist? Like they probably don't check their online appointments. My nail tech, Kim, was very rushed and looked SO VERY UNHAPPY to be there. I have lots of compassion for someone in the service industry however the sloppiness with which I was touched and even the basic nail painting was done shows a sincere lack of professionalism. I don't want care from someone who doesn't even seem to consent to doing the work. 😨

While I was there, a party of four came in, in addition to two other walk ins. Now clearly they are short staffed (aren't we all right now) but they should have been respectfully saying NO to additional clients instead of rushing through and not even completing the services for those who were already there if so.

To top it all off, my initial registration was for a mani and a pedi, and they didn't even consider providing both services. Cause they were sad and so rushed they couldn't take care of each client already present. So I left without what I went in for, as well as feeling terrible about the exchange of human time and energy that just happened. I won't be back, and I wish I could get my...
