Read morei used to live a few houses away from Plum Tree Park in the early 1990s, in the house on the corner with the wonderful yard art. My memory is bad, but i swear this park used to be very different and like to the description on the Seattle Parks website. I think there were many plum trees where the terraced garden is now, and ramping walkways lined by telephone pole ends instead of the stairs. The basketball hoop was removed while I lived there (25 years ago) because the neighbors didn't like the noise, though kids enjoyed it. Does anyone else remember this or know about the park re-design? Such a shame to lose all...
This is such a cute park, if only the playground was more accessible (spongey black surface with no step down would pair better with the ramp than the gravely mulchey business they have going on.) I may come and help tear out some of the ivy...
Read moreI used to live in that neighborhood. Plum tree Park was truly a Plum Tree Park. Or just a vacant lot that had nothing but palm trees. We used to pick the plums and sell the plums to our neighbors. I think it was about $0.10 a bag.🤗...
