Erik responded very rapidly via text to my request for a quote, and was able to schedule my non-emergency appointment for within 48 hours. I had an older Schlage keypad lock that I wanted to put to use; it had been sitting in an open box in my garage for years. Erik installed it, and then we discovered that somewhere along the way, the backup key had disappeared. So he cut new keys for me, at a very low price. He also installed three Charley bars on my sliding glass doors, and was done with everything in less than an hour. It is not easy to get a key made during a pandemic. I had to leave town ASAP because of a death in the family and needed a key for last minute pet care. I went to 3 places. Two had closed signs posted during business hours and the third didn't have the key I needed.

I made a Hail Mary call on a weekday evening before giving up for the day and Erik was a block away from my apartment 5 minutes later. He made two keys for me and was very kind and empathetic while I talked about my day of struggling to get a spare key. It look all of 4 minutes. His prices are fair and both keys work beautifully.

10 Stars!!! Great experience with Eric, owner of Sound Lock & Key. He was very professional, friendly, and did a fantastic job installing a double deadbolt and changing a door knob. He was very responsive when I contacted him and cleaned the floor after installation.

I had first contacted Ballard Lock & Key and the owner Bob was impatient on the phone (he said it was very frustrating to speak with me because I didn’t have much knowledge of the technical terms (really??).

Btw, Sound Lock & Key price was much better than Ballard Sound Lock & Key.
