My original review was deleted. My experience was terrible from the fitting to the dress arriving.
Had an appointment in Feb. 2022. Showed up and they had lost my appointment and had sent the dress I was looking forward to trying on, out for dry cleaning. They scrambled trying to figure out who could assist me and also what went wrong. I was the only client there on a Friday at 10am. So my aunt and I walked around looking at other dresses on the floor. My aunt just started grabbing dresses. Someone finally came to assist. She was nice, very quiet, but wasn’t able to actually help me with getting dresses on and off. Thank goodness my two aunts, who were with me, had no problem grabbing dresses and helping me change. I was a little embarrassed my aunts had to be the ones assisting me (they’re old money and we’re shocked at the client experience, I just didn’t want any drama)
Dress 1. Was a size small, fit okay, beautiful and my style. Chelo Dress 2. The one I wanted! But only had a medium there. It was way too sloppy looking and not able to clip back. Lena Dress 3. Had little detail and was skin tight. Hard to get off, so aunts stepped in.
Keep in mind, mask mandate was still in place. So trying dresses on with masks, makeup guard and no assistance. Yikes!
We ordered the Chelo, took measurements, husband paid in full over the phone. And we were in and out within 1 hour.
I provided my final measurements as required a couple months later. They didn’t change.
Dress was supposed to arrive towards the end of July/beginning of August. No sign. I finally called the shop directly and asked: Where it was and if we could track it? It wouldn’t let me track it online because they had two accounts in my name… lost appointment comes back to mind. Do you recommend any alteration shops? She said they only have one in Seattle they refer to. But nothing in Portland. She said I should look at Google reviews to find someone. Helpful? She the told me the dress would arrive middle of September. My wedding is October 1st…
Finally arrived mid September. I set up a FaceTime call with my bestie to show her. I was excited, had my vanity room set up with all my accessories, shoes, and hair and make up done. Put it on, and just broke down crying! My stomach dropped. It was extremely loose. Way, way too loose. I can’t even figure how this could happen. And with two weeks to go until the big day.
My husband frantically called the local David’s bridal (Portland area). He knew this was the only thing I wanted with the wedding. I was easy with all wedding details. Just wanted a perfect dress.
I ended up getting ahold of, who she claimed was, a head seamstress, at the corporate office in Australia. She looked up my order and said they altered a medium dress for me. Odd, because the small didn’t even fit me at the showroom?
David’s bridal rushed an alteration and it fit great. However, ended up way too short! Probably because they had to bring it in so much. Disappointed.
Not sure what happened to my original review about this. But someone from GLL responded to it and basically took zero accountability, and seemed to blame me that my measurements weren’t accurate as every dress is altered to fit the bride. It was a very backhanded apology and apologized about time and money we spent to visit GLL. Trust me, that’s not an issue, I would pay anything to go back in time to have a better experience and a dress that fit. Every time I look at my photos, I cringe at how short the dress fell.
All I hope for now is that the staff is more attentive, stock and lead times are better, and future brides to have a...
Read moreI didn't expect to find my dress here, but Annelise Gudenkauf guided me through it from before I even stepped foot inside the showroom and it's all history from there. Before my appointment I sent Annelise my choices of gowns to try on from their site, after having gotten through many dresses during appointments at other shops, I picked more than they suggested thinking I'd be similarly quick here. I was wrong. From my choices, she chose a couple more that she thought I would like. She took my measurements while I wore one of their slips and me and my friends drank a little bubbly. Then she pulled my choices, as well as hers. She was helpful, and thoughtful, and used our moments alone to check in with me in between feedback from my friends. She made me feel comfortable and relaxed and it was easy to spend time in each dress, walk around in the boutique, see the dress from different angles and get a good idea how I felt in each one. We narrowed it down to 2, and with the timing working out to be about 8 months before my wedding, we decided to jump on it and I brought my parents in the next morning, Annelise fitting us in first thing to make sure I would get the dress in time. She let us take our time, talk through each option, and she pulled more out of me every time she caught me tensing up. I felt like she was my advocate during many moments as we tried each dress on 2-3 times to compare. Ordering the final choice and the accessories we decided on was easy with their point of sale, and they've been communicative ever since. I'll update with more when I...
Read moreI had found the Grace Loves Lace company on Pinterest and immediately fell in love with the unique designs. I booked my appointment to fall on my birthday and was immediately reached out to by a stylist for an introduction and questions regarding my personal style and wedding theme! It was so personable that I knew this team was set out on not just making another sale, but truly finding the dream dress anyone could hope for. I’m based in WA state so I booked for the Seattle location. When the day of my fitting came, I walked into the boutique and was in awe of the neutral tones and raw materials of the stores interior which made the vibe of the dresses on display stand out beautifully. My stylist ShaToya, based at the Atlanta location, greeted me with a warm welcome and we got right to work with introductions, measurements and questions. I came into my appointment with a game plan of 5 dresses, and after trying on 3/5 I asked to switch out the last two dresses for two others which ShaToya was happy to help with! My decision came down to two dresses but as soon as the veil was added to THE dress tears were absolutely flowing. ShaToya walked me through scenarios and imagery of the big day to help make it feel even more real. I could not be more grateful to ShaToya for treating me like a long time friend and supporting me as a bride in finding the dress that made me finally feel like I was actually getting married! Thank you ShaToya and thank you to the GLL team for creating a one of a kind company and experience for...
