This was my first experience with the Mountain Bureau and I cannot recommend them enough! I took the "Learn to Lead Trad Camp" in Vantage with guide/owner Mark Allen, and it was by far the best outdoors course I've ever taken (including rock climbing, ski touring, and mountaineering courses through other outfitters) in terms of the amount of content, the approachability of the instructor, and the fun factor. I will definitely be taking more courses, and hopefully taking trips through Mountain Bureau in the future. If you're on the fence about a course, just send it, you won't be disappointed!

Mountain Bureau were prompt and accurate in their communication, excellent value and a much better service and overall experience compared to Alpine Ascents - everything was personalised and we didn’t feel like “just another client”. Very far from the rip-off mentality we have seen elsewhere. Mark, the lead guide, was very experienced and made us feel safe all the way. He was great company and his knowledge of the local geology and fauna was super. All together a first class job and a great guy.

The MB helped me feel more confident while trad climbing this weekend. I took their "Learn to Lead Trad" class in Vantage, WA. I walked in with a lot of questions and Mark always answered with clear instructions that were always backed up with context, drawing on examples. This was my 6th time hiring MB guides for rock and ski training and guiding. Highly recommended!

From my first experience with Mark and his team, I was struck with the degree of professionalism and respect that they displayed towards everyone they work with. Safety and efficiency is always the priority and Mark’s and his team’s knowledge and ability to deal with any situation in the most effective manner is extremely effective as a tool in instruction and guiding trips. Mark has become a mentor to me in many ways, trusting me to be a partner in expeditions, as well as sharing his experience and knowledge to make our trips safe, enjoyable, and full of learning opportunities. I cannot recommend Mountain Bureau enough as the best team of professionals who enjoy teaching and emphasise experience in the outdoors as the best tool to experience partnership...

Mark and team are our go-to adventure crew for the Pacific Northwest! We’ve had the pleasure of participating in their backcountry Ski Pass three years in a row and gotten to see a new ski area and learn new tips and tricks every time. We’ve also ventured to Baker guided by the Mountain Bureau, once for our first overnight ski tour and another time on a glacier travel/crevasse rescue course. The guides and the operations are top notch, very experienced, personable, and able to tailor the outing to what you’re looking for. All our experiences with the Mountain Bureau have definitely added to our outdoor toolbox and allowed us to take on more, and bigger than I thought possible, objectives on our own....

I’ve done multiple climbs with this group and there’s a reason why I always choose them. They are phenomenal. The guides are extremely knowledgeable and kind. They want you to not only achieve your goals on the mountain but are also willing to ensure you learn things on the mountain to increase your own knowledge base as a climber.

I’ve hired this group to also guide a group of sober climbers who are novices. The guides and staff were so encouraging and engaging with my team.

I can not say enough good things about Mountain Bureau, Mark Allen, Zack and Steffan. Can not wait to climb...
