I've mulled over the idea of leaving this review for almost a week and the more I think about it, the more upset it makes me. There's a pretty bad LGS where I live and I take every opportunity to visit other game stores because it's enjoyable and I can find potential places to play if I want to travel. I went to Game Zone looking for some MTG stuff and they opened later than posted and after going in there was a dad and his children who were occupying the employee's time, so I left. I decided to come back, after I visited the other shop in Sedalia. When I came back to the store I asked the employee if he could help me find some planeswalker emblems, because I wanted to finish off my planeswalker collection. Now I understand that there are quite a few of them and that not all of them are easy finds, especially as you go back in time. When he asked which ones I needed I told him any of them, because I was missing pretty much all of them. He almost seemed to despise that I asked for his help and after an awkward minute or two of him cleaning up so that he could help, he got to the binders. The storing of emblems is reserved at the back of a three ring binder, so he opened to the back and didn't see anything and moved on to the next binder. After he started his third or fourth binder, he, pretty sarcastically, added "It would be a lot easier to find if I knew which ones you were looking for". If I'm missing pretty much all of them, then I need pretty much all of them. I don't know how else to say that. This situation can be chalked up to a bad day, but when your competitor in town immediately helped me and went beyond to make sure I was happy with what I left with, it leaves a mark in which I'm not sure why I would want to go back...
Read moreStopped by today with my son. Very impressed with the layout here. Had everything the geek in me would be looking for, retro video games for all systems, including newer titles as well. Magic and Pokemon cards are organized and clearly marked and displayed. A decent size comic book selection area. We will be coming back for sure. The guy working there was very nice, allowing my son to pick out some Pokemon cards to hold for us until we come back tomorrow. Board games and card games for sale as well. As a guy looking for cool retro video game stores, this one is a gem. Good,...
