The food and drinks are amazing here and I highly recommend the ghost pepper cheese on any pizza. I have only ever had one bad experience here. My parents were visiting this weekend for Easter and I wanted to take them to a nice lunch at one of our favorite local places. We wanted to do a shot as a family and my dad ordered a shot for my 20 year old brother. We are originally from Texas and as long as a parent, legal guardian, or spouse is present a minor can consume alcohol in an establishment that serves alcohol (Title 4, chapter 106 of the Texas Alcoholic Beverage Code) Because we are not very familiar with Missouri we assumed that it would not be a big deal for my brother to have a drink, especially since my brother is only 3 months away from 21 and consuming 1 beverage in the presence of both our parents. We were then confronted by a manager/server and she said we needed to pay and leave or she was going to call the police for letting my brother drink. My family begun to gather our things and we apologized, paid, and tried to explain the situation but the girl telling us to leave called us liars and kept saying she was going to go call the cops. We apologized once again and left because we did not want anybody (our family or any of the Fitters staff) to get in trouble for this misunderstanding. My family is aware that we lack the knowledge of Missouri drinking laws and assuming anything without looking it up is definitely not the way to go about things. We were ok with leaving, but making a scene and threatening us with police involvement for nothing more than a misunderstanding seemed very extreme for the situation, asking politely for us to leave would have been perfectly fine and we would’ve probably come back another day. This whole thing has left a bad impression on me and although I will probably go back at some point I don’t think I will be going as often. Once again this is the only negative thing I have to say about this place. The food is amazing, the drinks are phenomenal, and for the most part the service is...
Read moreWhy did I have to argue about $2.50? My wife and I were looking forward to a nice relaxed meal on our last night in Sedalia. I was a bit miffed that my cup of soup arrived with my entree and was lukewarm, but I just brushed it off as a bit of service issues especially considering the restaurant wasn't busy. I ordered the sirloin steak with a baked potato. Most of the dinner items state that they come with fries but a signature side could be substituted for another $2. The price on the steak was $20, and the menu clearly states that it includes a side. When I got my bill, the steak was priced at $22.50. When I brought the 'error' to the attention of the manager, he stated rather unapologetically that the baked potato was an upcharge even when I pointed out how it is stated on the menu (see the pic of the menu we had at the table). When I stressed how that could be considered deceptive, he said he would call his boss. After a quick trip to the back, he came back with an updated bill less the $2.50. He said his boss apologized, but he, the manager, never did. His attitude was in the vein of "it is what it is and can't do anything about it". I recommended that the servers be trained to advise customers of that before they order one of the three entrees that are supposed to come with a side, make a little note on all the menus, or get the menus reprinted to reflect the actual policy. It's a family owned business, but I get the feeling that the owners may not be aware or be made aware. Considering all the other positive reviews, I hope this oversight will be fixed otherwise their reputation...
Read moreFood is over priced considering that the freezer burn taste is overwhelming and they don't cook it right. The catfish was still slimy, even with the freezer burn taste. Staff is nice, but they don't understand basic process of being a server. Why even order a salad if it's not out before your food? No one thinks hey, I'm gonna eat a salad after the main course comes out. Everyone got liquid diarrhea before even making it home, so something is not right there. Pay $100 to get bad squirts and food that is obviously not fresh doesn't feel like a decent experience to me. Wasn't planning on going on a diet, but here I am again in the bathroom literally pouring my gutts out. We were perfectly fine before we ate there and bam. Is that the goal of eating out, to get some disease from the places' poor handling? Good pizza they say...not when it tastes like a cracker with ketchup only. Could've done that as a homeless person. A few toppings dumped on a quarter if the cracker pizza, so one decent slice on the whole super large pizza. And the flies were horrific. Really? Safe to say, just don't go there. They...
