Hollberg's Fine Furniture — Local services in Senoia

One of the worst experiences I have ever had in any store. My wife and I were looking for a bedroom set, and since I work about 5 minutes away we decided to visit Hollberg's one day while I was on my lunch break.

We stopped in, and walked around for several minutes - walking past a group of three "sales" employees 3-4 times who were circled up talking to each other about famous people they had met. They never greeted us or even looked in our direction.

Eventually, I walked up to them and asked if they could show us some king sized bedroom sets. At that point, the lady in the group turned for a second, pointed out the window, and said "The less expensive stuff is across the street." referencing their clearance showroom. She immediately turned and picked up on her conversation with her fellow employees without missing a beat. Very dismissive and clearly had no time for my wife and I.

I am not sure WHY she did this, I am the Vice President of a marketing company and I like to think that I don't look like a bum. I didn't even have the opportunity to be impolite myself (except that perhaps I interrupted their conversation).

Needless to say we left and made our purchase elsewhere, but I wanted to give them a chance to redeem themselves so I sent an email to their manager explaining what happened, and that while I wasn't looking for anything special I thought he would want to know.

No response. No apology, nothing. An apology would have brought me back to the store to shop to at least afford them the opportunity sell me something, but no.

I am now somehow on their mailing list, and have asked twice to be removed because of my bad experience. They have ignored this request as well.

I avoid them like the plague, and now take every opportunity available to share my bad experience with them to anyone interested. I can only imagine how bad their after the sale...

We searched thru many fabrics and took the samples home to pick color and fabric in the light of our home. Ordered the Century sofa with down wrapped cushions...not inexpensive!! Waited the 6-ish weeks and when it was being delivered Jim said that's not the right color when he looked out the window as it was being unloaded. I agreed. We contacted the store who said we had to contact the manufacturer. We did and they said that's the color we ordered and there's always a slight variation...this was a significant variation! In addition I emailed pictures to the manufacturer of the very shoddy workmanship on the sofa totally outside of wrong coloration. The middle skirt at the bottom front of sofa is appx. 1.25" shorter than the other two skirts on either side. NOT acceptable. Also one of the sides has the white backing showing on the sofa. When I called Holberg's back to ask someone to come out and look for themselves and sent pictures to manufacturer...the owner, Mr. Holberg, dodged a few messages left from me and finally left me a curt and rather mean spirited message basically saying he stands by the manufacturer and isn't going to do anything to make this right! We had already purchased a couple other pieces that same year each over $1,000 and I will NEVER set foot in that unprofessional establishment again. BEWARE...doesn't stand behind the...

Beware that there is no service after the sale. We ordered a bedroom set which included a dresser and a mirror. Our sales person priced three different mirrors and we picked one of those. Unfortunately the mirrors that she priced were not recomended for the dresser that we bought and once delivered was way to short. You can see in the picture that it chops off my head when you look into the mirror. When I spoke to the owner about the situation, I was blamed and told to use common sense and measure the furniture. Why would you not expect your salesperson to recommend a mirror (which this manufacturer had)that was actually the recomended mirror for that dresser??? I was not only not refunded for the mirror, they never even helped me to order another mirror from the same grouping and she was very rude. This was a terrible customer service experience. If you go there, beware that they will not help you if something goes wrong. Read other reviews. I wish I had. I would recommend that you order from Hinson Galleries in...
