Take 5 Oil Change — Local services in Shallotte

First oil change was fantastic, took less than five minutes, 42.00 for the oil change. People at Shallotte were GREAT!! THE only thing that was disturbing was , I has just changed the air filter two weeks ago, in this car, the person working on my car told me that it was very dirty and needed to be replaced, I then asked to see the filter, looked at it and it still looked new. I Filipped the filter, then told the person I was OK. If I been a women or had not just changed the filter, They would have changed me $49.00 for a filter that did not need to be changed! I drove home and picked up my other vehicle, and drove back to the take 5, and had the oil changed in that vehicle also. They told me about the 50 percent off sale and stated that the oil change that I had chosen would be 118.00or 112.00 for the service, at 50 percent off I was looking for 60 to 70.00 for services. After the oil was dropped and the filter was taken off my vehicle, they came and told me that my vehicle took 8 qts. Of oil instead of 5. I said OK. I guess that would be OK. They also showed me that I needed to front wiper blades, I agreed and they replaced them. But when the bill came it was $251.00 I asked why SO MUCH, we'll the three additional qts. of oil were 12.99 per qt., I said what!! The Mgr. Stated that he was 9.00 per qt. from his disturbing plant, and he had to order 30 cases at a time. At 251.00 at 50 percent that still should have been around 125.00 to 130.00 total. No, we don't discount the 12.99 oil. I Ended up paying $155.00 for my oil change and two wipers. I then went across the street and purchased one qt. Of my oil for 8.40 per qts. I believe in markup but come on!! Then they checked my cab filter and showed me it was very critical dirty. I asked how much and the Mgr. Stated 49.00. I had just checked on that filter when I purchased the first cars air filter two weeks ago and that same filter at Auto Zone was 23.00. I first told them no, then the Mgr. Told me he take the filter down to $35.00, if I wanted it. That was in the rate with installing it I thought was fair!!:So I agreed to replace it. The second oil change I would rate about a C. Because of the over priced oil. I went back and showed the receipt to the Mgr. Of the 8.40 per qt. At Wall Mart. I am a purchasing agent, for a large Electric Service Company. I purchase over $100000.00 per month for my firm. I also told the Mgr. If they were paying that much the they oil, that Sam's Club was even cheaper than Wal Mart fir this oil per qts. First oil change rated a A, 2nd oil change rated a C . Hope this helps. Do Not send your wife into there or she may come out with a $400.00...

Great place to get your car serviced and oil changed. I’m new to the area and looked up places close to me and found this. I drive right in with no waiting and everything was taken care of in a matter of minutes ! I like the drive through service where you don’t even have to get out of your car. I had my oil changed, air filter replaced, coolant exchange and got a set of windshield wipers installed because mine made so much noise! They come with a 6 month warranty and you can come back to top off any fluids within a certain mileage range which they will tell you what your range is when you are there. I appreciated them showing me what everything looked like before it was changed so I could see the difference. I always had the option to decline with zero pressure. I had a coupon for $25 off oil change which was nice and you can get that by looking them up online and downloading it into your phone. Sat in the car waiting to have my oil changed for thirty minutes to be told that they would not service because of an active leak. Car was 21 years old, what do you expect! Drove a thousand miles and was full on my return. Did not “loose” enough oil to require any additional oil. Was told rear main seal leak and active leak on top of engine. I had an amount of antifreeze spill when I changed the antifreeze when adding. Very minor leak around oil pan gasket. What they saw was antifreeze. I had waited to bring it in first thing since I was driving a thousand miles. Walmart did the change without a problem and advised the only found the antifreeze from my Spill. Your staff was not seasoned enough To determine what the wet area was, lost the sale. Your stall was very polite, professional, and supplied me with a bottle of water. Unfortunately I sat a while only to be provided with incorrect diagnosis. I’m sure the problems will be better recognized with some experience. Antifreeze is green or pink, not black or brown like oil. Experience and more prompt service will correct...
