San Felipe — Restaurant in Shallotte

I regret to say that our recent dining experience at San Felipe was deeply disappointing and utterly shocking. My family and I were excited to enjoy a meal together after my son's karate practice, but what unfolded left us disturbed and appalled.

From the outset, things seemed promising. Our server was friendly and attentive. The chips and salsa tasted great.

However, our pleasant experience quickly took a drastic turn when my son's entrée arrived. After taking a bite, he recoiled in horror, pointing to something on his plate. To our disbelief and disgust, there was a maggot wriggling around on his food.

We immediately called over our server and showed him the maggot. He was visibly shocked and quickly apologized, taking the plate away. When our server returned, we told him we did not want to continue our meal and we left to find another place to eat.

Finding a maggot in our food is beyond unacceptable. Dining out should be a safe and enjoyable experience, but this was anything but. We will not be returning to this restaurant.

I hope the management at San Felipe takes serious measures to address this issue to prevent such a disturbing incident from happening to other patrons. Our family is deeply disappointed and will be sharing this experience with others to caution them about the potential risks of dining here.

In summary, no matter how good the food or service might be, the presence of a maggot on a plate is an unforgivable lapse in food safety. Proceed with caution if you decide to dine...

My family and I have been long time customers but our most recent visit was so terrible, that we will not be returning! Our waitress rushed our table of six to put in our order and seemed frustrated with us from the start, (I completely understand that restaurants get busy however I have been a long time customer and I have experienced awesome service during super busy times in the past here) she put in our order and we didn’t get our drinks until the food started arriving. Each person at the table got their food at a different time so we were unable to enjoy our meal together. Three out of the four fajita plates we ordered were cold! We never received refills on our drinks and we also never received silverware! When we asked for refills and silverware, the waitress became very upset. We kindly asked to speak with the manager when we finished, whom we’ve spoken with in past visits, we just wanted to let him know, that this visit was very disappointing compared to previous visits. It was even more disappointing because we brought family from out of town and we were expecting a wonderful experience. We were told that we could not speak with the manager and that they would give us a $10 discount. We were rushed out the door and my receipt only showed a $9 discount. We left unsatisfied with our food and service and unfortunately the experience will keep us from returning...

I absolutely loved coming here but after tonight I will not be coming back after they Robbed me . My order was 71 $ okay ran my card they oh you still owe 9 cents so we said oh werid but okay. Well they ran my other card took a 11$ and the 1st card they took 86.05 . I said wait hold on so they refund the 11$ they they took from my one card . But that still leaves them over charging me in the beginning over charged what 15$ buck? But they are acting like im in the wrong! What we werid is the receipt said 71 dollars. So where is the 15$ in their pocket I guess . I would have gave a tip !, but it was a to go order ! Yes people deserve a tip but one that i put not on their own so yes I have a problem with it especially since they acted like i was short money like if I didnt catch it they would have taken 26 dollars! Like make it make sense. Even showing them the bank account they still didn't want to see where they was wrong! Like my thing is what would have happen if I had more in that one account would they have taken it all because that is what they did with my 1st account. And my meal wasn't even that price!! So what did they do...
