I absolutely love this event. Every year during the summer they have a theme for the three weekends they do this, and I'm never disappointed. It's great fun to browse the vendors. There is so much to choose from. Custom jewelry, art, pottery, etc. Some of the shops along the street have clothing. Last year we even saw custom plate mail armor that was very well made. The lines are a bit longer for food vendors, but it's worth the wait. The lighting ceremony on the river is gorgeous. There's live music and usually a form of entertainment that's relevant to the theme. They had a fire thrower at one event that was extraordinary to see. Just a really great time with a lot of activities and great, friendly people everywhere. Great for families, a date night, or just a fun time out with your friends. Unfortunately, they only have a line of portable toilets set up at the very end of the street, however there are some places like McDonald's along the way if you need something a bit more private. Expect a crowd and dogs are very welcome. They usually set water dishes up...

There were craft vendors, several bands, food truck vendors, and local community organizations. It has an "Art Walk" which is simply a map with roughly 25 stops geared primarily to make you visit their local merchants. The waterfire portion of the event is basically steel urns permanently mounted in the river that are filled with firewood and lit. They also have blacked-out kayaks, with illuminated fish mounted above them, paddle up and down the river. A craft vendor said that the event is shrinking from 3 times a year to 2 times a year because of the lack of interest. Overall, it was a major...
Read moreResembles a satanic ritual. I'm not particularly religious but using satanic imagery as "art" is an edgy stupid phase that should have died in the 90s. In addition to being weird and uncomfortable for patrons waterfire also has a surprisingly small amount of things to do. If you like drinking beer and listening to a drum circle you're (a weirdo, but) you'll enjoy waterfire. If you like music stay away because the chanting and bagpipes are terrible. I have been to Sharon waterfire every year since they started and it has not gotten better, just more packed...
