Let Me tell you about the nightmare I call DAN's OPTICAL. I first called Dan's Optical when I found out I needed to wear glasses. My mom has given me a pair of glasses that belonged to my Great Aunt, we were born on the same day, way different years though, she was born in 1896. They were solid BRASS w/ octagon lens, totally unique. I never got to meet the woman but, I'd been told so much about her. My Grandmother always said that we looked a lot a like & now I get to wear have the same glasses as she has been wearing in the the few pictures I had seen of her, they even had her teeth marks in the end pieces. Dan's Optical said he could put new lens' in for me so off I went to drop them off, little did I know I that I would never see them again. When I got there, I handed over the glasses & My prescription & then he goes on to tell me that I needed bifocals, so naturally I have to get progressive lens, & I get migraines so I needed to be photochromic, (transitional) but I was being assured it wouldn't cost that much. Once it was all said & done with, on top of the $175 my insurance it cost me another $331, I couldn't believe it! Every penny I had saved. And that's not all, I waited close to a month, & in the meantime twice I was told that they were ready just to pay someone to drive me, because I don't have a car, there & back from Anderson to Shasta Lake City, did I mention twice? Finally the day comes that my glasses were ready, finally, so I find a ride & it's getting close to closing time, I get there all to find out that my BRASS glasses are now PEWTER, WHAT? NO! Needless to say there was no resolution, just the fact that my glasses are gone & I'm out $331 because I cannot see a thing in them!!! I'm going to include a picture of them here too, might as well not be the only one who sees my useless...
Read moreI went to Dans wanting to use my frames. The eye exam went fine and I was told it would only take a few days to get my lens back from wherever they sent them to be made. I was quoted $300+ for the new lens, new nose pieces and putting the lens in my frame. That's a lot for lens, so you expect the quality to be great. The day I left after my eye exam my nose piece fell off my existing glasses so I had to use my old pair, no big deal it's only a few days. 3 months later they finally get my lens, I go in to have my glasses put together, they charge me for the nose piece, which was suppose to be part of my service and everything I look at is oblong. I go back in to see what they can do about this horrible distortion, and they tell me I will have to deal with the distortion or not be able to see as good. Great choices! Ugh. So everything is oblong and it drives me nuts. Be very cautious going to them. I do...
Read moreI was seen a little over a month ago and I have not been able to shake the terrible experience I was provided. A few of my favorite things he said to me: âWhy are you here you donât need glasses, have you been prescribed glasses before?â -Iâve had glasses since I was 12. âYouâre just trying to save a pennyâ -because I was trying to stay within my optical coverage. âThereâs no cyst in your eye. Thereâs no such thingâ âIf there was a cyst in your eye they would tell you what kind it is. You should just go back to riverside eye care thenâ oh I will be. âYouâre going to tell people Iâm a quack and I do not appreciate that young ladyâ -I never said anything like that. I simply asked him questions about my eyesight.
Do yourself a favor and skip this optometrist, go see Dr. Sumsion, an Opthemologist at riverside eye care. You will...
