Hard to Pin Down!!!
I had a windows 7 PC that records Public Broadcast TV. It has worked for years but the CPU over heated and it would not boot into CMOS. I bought an identical machine, transferred the hardware and software but the 2nd machine would not complete the win7 boot. I did not have my boot repair software with me, so I asked Prym Computerz to do the job. They were my 3rd place I called. The 1st was a voicemail, 2nd was an always busy, no voice mail and Prym answered the phone.
I drove my PC 45 min. to Sheboygan. Prym then wanted the 1st PC so 1.5 hrs later I drove that to Sheboygan. I also brought the original hard drive for the 2nd PC and asked him to copy the boot record from that hard drive so the 2nd PC would boot. I asked about charges/fees. I heard $89 and I heard $300. I asked for a cap of $300 before calling me to go farther. He said he couldn't commit to that.
I left and Prym ignored my request and decided it was easier to repair my 1st PC (the one that was over heating). He got that running and sent me a bill for $400. I asked about a warranty he said there was none because this was "data recovery" and then said I should back up my computer. I complained about the $400 and he gave me a 1st time customer rebate, reducing the cost to $316.
I wanted a working 2nd computer - I did not get that. I did not ask for repair of the 1st PC which was overheating but he did get that PC to run- still looking at the over heating condition I wanted a working TV Tuner PC. I did get that but I'm now working with the company who sold be the 2nd PC to get it to boot properly.
IN SHORT, I would not go back to Prym because he is too hard to pin down, does not complete the requested task and offers NO WARRANTY for his work; calling it "data recovery" which is a...
Read moreOur son who attends Lakeland University had damaged his laptop and the school's IT Dept. was not able to assist him with the repair. He found PrymPC - Prym Computerz, and James got right to work on his laptop. He even loaned us one of his personal laptops (while waiting for a part) so our son wouldn't fall behind in school or have to use a computer in the lab with restricted hours. James was diligent and thorough - and kept us all in the loop on the progress. He is extremely knowledgeable and truly professional. We would highly recommend James and PrymPC - Prym Computerz. - Linda and...
