This small, family owned shop has been a staple in the area for as long as I can remember. I used to pass by it constantly as a kid growing up. Unassuming, unpretentious, the people there are kind, helpful, and really put their time and effort into finding the perfect dress for you. There's something to be said about experience; you are confident in their expertise and opinions because they've seen it all, worked with all shapes and sizes, and can help you find the dress you never knew you needed. Although I had a sort of idea of what I wanted, I was grateful that Lori was able to take the reigns and pull a variety of styles for me, not just what I had "imagined" beforehand. All I can say is let them do that, you never know until you try it on. I appreciate an honest opinion; if it doesn't look great, I need someone to tell me. They didn't rush me, didn't pressure me. Lori was able to not only find me the perfect dress (dresses) but was also experienced and knowledgeable about the alteration process, made the perfect suggestions as to what could be done to the dress to make it more "my style". I loved the privacy, they space out the appts nicely. Let me say that I've been to a more commercialized bridal store where the stylists knew nothing about alterations, had a limit to how many dresses you could try on , and I just felt rushed like I was shuffled in and out, and that's just not what you want when trying to find this perfect dress. Nancy's Bridal was so much more personalized. The ladies were amazing to work with. I went alone for my first visit so I could get more done without having to deal with others opinions, and so I could make the most of my time and deal one on one with the advisor. I narrowed down my choices and went back with two family members for their opinions, and this way worked very well. With regard to prices, I didn't check everything but most of what I tried on ranged btwn $900 - $1750. They also had a fairly large sale rack of either samples or discontinued styles that were approx 50% off. So prices were absolutely reasonable. Remember brides, don't wait too long to shop for your dress. Suppliers and their vendors and logistics are all still recovering from the Covid fallouts, so give yourself more time in case there are delays. I'm so glad I chose this shop and I highly recommend it if you're a bride who wants personalized attention and want assistance finding the perfect dress that works just...
Read moreMy son went to this store to rent a vest and bow tie for a prom. They rented it to him ... at a cost of $59.00 plus tax! I was outraged at the cost when he came home ... a vest and bow tie to wear for 3 hours at a cost of $59? I immediately tried calling the store but they had closed for the evening. I did some research that night and found the same vest and bow tie to PURCHASE (from California), with rush delivery at a cost of $40. I called the next morning to cancel the order. SO RUDE! The employee who answered kept stating it was a final sale, wherein I pointed out to her that it states nowhere on the paperwork that it is a final sale and no refunds would be allowed. She then changed her story and stated the owner said he could get a refund but there would be a $15.00 cancellation fee. Once again I pointed out that this was not stated anywhere on their paperwork (cancellation fee). She said they had a sign in the store, and because they had already faxed over the order (2 hours earlier), there would be a fee to cancel it. I said a telephone call to the tuxedo shop should cancel it. She then stated that the fee is because he used his Visa, wherein I stated it was a debit card so there would not be a fee. The owner kept yelling in the background, "it's only $15, what's her problem ... hang up on her". When I went in to the store to pick up the refund and, again, questioned the $15 fee the owner said she dropped it down to $10 but if I questioned her again I would get NOTHING back, and then walked in to the back room leaving me at the counter - unbelievable. She stated that the $10 was a fitting fee. I agreed to allow them to keep the $10, mainly because they threatened not to give me anything back and told me I would have to take them to court. If she had mentioned the $10 was a nonrefundable fitting fee at the beginning (which, again, isn't stated anywhere on the paperwork or in the store) this hassle could have all been alleviated (although I highly doubt that was why she was keeping the money.) Apparently all these fees can miraculously increase/decline on a whim, and they can threaten their customers. If this is how they deal with customer service, I will NEVER shop here, nor would I recommend this...
Read moreI came here to get alterations done on my wedding dress. I needed a bustle added and the off-shoulder "sleeves" attached. I had worn my gown at the bridal shop from where I purchased it just two weeks prior. However, the bridal shop was across the state and I wanted alterations done nearby in case there needed to be touch ups etc. My mom called to make me an appointment. When I got there I may as well not have had an appointment because no one was expecting me. This was not that big of a deal though it was, in hindsight, a glimpse of how this place is run. I put my gown on and I walked out. They asked what I needed done. I told them, the bustle and the sleeves. (For context, my dress is a ballgown with 6-7 layers and corset back and I am plus sized) They start lifting up the layers and looking at the dress. Then they grab both sides, attempt to hold them together and say "Your dress doesn't fit. It's way too small you need a new dress." I was absolutely flabbergasted. I tell them "I just wore this 2 weeks ago" and she says "It's too small by about 10 inches. It's not close. You need a new dress." I said "I can't get a new dress, this dress was thousands of dollars and dresses take months to get. Can you add some fabric to it?" She tells me after spending 30 seconds in the back room looking for fabric that "I don't have any fabric in that color, it's too late to order any and we are too busy to do that much work. It's too much work." THERE IT IS. So instead of telling me right off the bat, "this is too much work, we are too busy" which is a completely acceptable answer, I was GASLIT into thinking my dress didn't fit. Because of my size, it was an easy out to say it didn't fit and I need a new one. They didn't even ATTEMPT to lace up my dress. I quickly changed back into my regular clothes, returned to my car and cried. I truly believed that my dress did not fit, somehow. It wasn't until I went elsewhere for alterations a few days later and my dress fit PERFECTLY that I realized what had actually happened here. Photo included of the dress that clearly fits me and did not have alterations done to make it do so! I am SO glad I went elsewhere. If I could leave zero...
