It was lunchtime, as my wife and I sat down. We were seated promptly, and cordially. With the colors, wall-hanging, and smells, it was obvious we had entered a Mexican restaurant. We were seated and handed menus. Within a few minutes, our server appeared for our drink order, and to deliver chips and salsa. The chips were excellent. They had a nice crispiness to them, and lightly salted, and not too thick nor too thin. However, she put down two dishes of salsa, and indicated which was the hot, and which was mild. I tasted each, and could not find the hot one. Knowing I like the spiciness moreso than my wife, I asked her to let me know which was which. Unfortunately, she found no difference either, although it was a very tasty sauce. When our waitress returned, I inquired as to a hotter option. She said they didn't have one. I found that very hard to believe in a renown establishment such as this one. However, I didn't press the matter. I was there to have a nice lunch with my wife, and as I said, what I had was tasty. At this time, she had our drinks, and we were ready to order our food. Everything seemed timely, with no unusual delays. It was wide open, and it was obvious the extended table in the center of our area was a Christmas party, somewhat subdued, but a party nonetheless, and had the volume of its 20 patrons to accompany it. At least there were no overly obnoxious TV's around, and I had no trouble hearing my date. As I was chatting with my wife, awaiting our food, I clearly saw the bull head, over her right shoulder, staring back at me from the wall, as to say, "I know we're several states north of Mexico, but let's pretend, eh?" My Burrazo arrived with an appetizing aroma, and a delightful, well plated appearance. The tender beef chunks was a nice change from the ground beef many restaurants try to foist off on you, as their meat, in their similar Mexican dishes. The beef was coupled with just enough beans to add to the flavor, yet not overpower, and was nicely encased in a flour tortilla, topped with, I believe, Monterey Jack cheese, and a spicy, but not hot, brown sauce. The jalapenos on top, plus the ones I stole from my wife's dish, gave it the necessary extra spice I was looking for. I was surprised it wasn't served with any rice. However, I know it was a lunch item, and not a dinner. Also, it was served as represented on the menu; which is always nice to see. A spicy hot sauce for my chips, and just maybe a small scoop of Mexican rice with my dish would have been nice. I also would have put a small dollop of sour cream on top center, for an option, but for nothing else to contrast the brown sauce, for that extra plate appearance. The service was excellent, the food was hot and tasty. I would definitely come back here to try other dishes. I recommend you try this...
Read moreWow...It's truly the only word I can come up with! UNBELIEVABLE horrible service!! This used to be one of my favorite places...not any more! Went for lunch with 5 other coworkers today, as we have MANY times in the past (and Christmas parties) today I was appalled on how we were treated. So many issues...beginning with asking the waitress for extra napkins - which we were rudely told would "be brought out with the food" (we needed them before then!). I had ordered a Taco salad with chicken and beans, but it was brought out with beef and beans. The waitress told me she would correct the mistake and bring a correct one. I explained I would just keep the one she brought, as we were on our lunch break. She assured me it wouldn't take long and took away my salad. She was correct in the time it took to bring a new one, as it came out in less than 5 minutes...the problem was it had almost zero chicken or beans. A coworker had also gotten the chicken taco salad and hers was loaded with chicken. I was waiting for the waitress to come back to explain the situation, and possibly order something else to go, to accommodate my time constraints; she never did...only time I saw her again was when she brought me my check. I asked her to remove my salad from my check, as I didn't eat the bowl of wet lettuce and beans. She never said a word, only took my salad and check away, and completely ignored me. I could not believe how rude she was, and neither could my coworkers. She then proceeded to call one of my female coworkers "sir". Everyone was really angry with how she treated me and we were discussing it at the table. There was another restaurant employee sitting with his laptop in a booth across from us, eavesdropping on our conversation. We paid the bill and left the premises, but as we were driving out, the young employee that was listening to us, who appeared to be not more than 20 years old, followed us out. He extended both of his middle fingers towards us and our car as a way to say goodbye! Seriously...I can't make this up!!! We stopped and confronted him, where he said he was "just a customer" Hilarious! He wasn't eating or drinking, just sat with his laptop, ran out a forgotten meal to a customer earlier, and CLEARLY works there!! This is how you treat your customers that KEEP you in business??? Supported you through COVID??? Recommended you to others in the past??? I am disgusted!! If I was the owner of this ONCE awesome restaurant...I would be beyond pissed at my so called 'employees' behavior! Senorita's, Esplendido's, Miguel's Cantina, La Fonda...you now have...

Making all the breading soggy. And taste horrible. I said I did not want this sauce. Which is named steak ranchero. And they took mine back scraped off the sauce and breading re melted cheese on itand sent it back. No breading and hard as shoe leather. Sent ot back and told them to forget it. Now pissed because I've been looking forward to it all day. Bragging to the others how good it was. The waitress pro ended to tell.me I ordered ot El Mexicana. Whi h I did not. I said milanese with cheese. ×3. Manager sided with server and blamed me. Telling me what the menu says with Mexicana. I told her I didn't even look at the menu as I knew what I wanted. And know what o told. Her. And scraping off the sauce and covering it and sending I back out was the last straw. No apology. The kids ate their steaks. And all said they did not like the sauce. I should have sent all 3 back! But didn't. And told them I did not want a 3rd attempt. As everyone else was done eating. And didn't order the carry out for my family.
