I have been a customer at Trouve for years, and I am disappointed in the new management that has taken over in the last couple of years. The store has definitely declined in quality, clothing style and clothing options they offer. Styles seem to be geared toward older women. The store used to look like a boutique with neatly arranged circular racks. Now it looks sloppy with straight racks and mostly undesirable clothing. This is definitely a change, as with former management you could find styles for any age. Also, inventory level is lower than what I’ve seen in the past. There are two older women who work there. One of them is the owner. Both are extremely rude. I brought consignment to the store last summer only to be greeted by a sign on the door that the store will be closed for over a month. So, I took note of the reopening date and I brought consignment items in on a Saturday and was rudely told consignment only happens during the week MWF from 12-5. So, I told them I work during the week and asked if they could make something work for me so that I could participate…maybe make an exception to accept consignment from me on Saturday. The owner didn’t say anything. She shook her head no and shrugged her shoulders as if to say you are not important to me. I was taken aback, as they depend on their customer’s consignment to run the business. Because I’ve had good luck in the past at consigning items there, I decided I would still try to make it work. So, a couple of months ago, I drove from my job at lunch time and brought clothes in during the hours they consign. When I arrived, they were open, but there was a sign on the door saying they wouldn’t be consigning on that particular day. I asked the woman why they weren’t consigning, and she said the owner was sick. I was puzzled as to why this woman couldn’t consign my clothing, but apparently the owner does not trust her enough to choose items for the store. Maybe she should let her have a shot at it, as I am not impressed with the owner’s clothing selections. At that point, I was done, and I decided I would no longer be a customer. I do not have the time to do business with a place that has been largely unreliable with their hours, with employees who feel it is acceptable to be rude to customers and with management who decides they can open or close the store anytime that suits them. I get the impression this business isn’t something you really want to manage. Do yourself a favor and sell it to someone who can run it properly...
Read moreI don't normally write reviews, but felt that this was necessary. The aura the middle-aged woman at the front desk gave me was very distasteful the moment that I walked into this store. I asked her how the store works in terms of how I can have her sell some of my items and she's like what do you mean? I was thinking, what do you think what do I mean? You're the person that works here. Then I said to her, "Can you please explain the process to me if I were to bring in some items to the store. How do you assess the items and how does the trade-off work?" She was SO rude the way she responded. In a way that came off as if I was wasting her time. Well, let me tell you.... I will spread the word of the nasty attitude given. I have worked in retail and that is not how you treat customers that help you stay in business. I then proceeded to browse the store, and only made it to a few racks before I decided their items are priced like a T.J. Maxx and that I would prefer to go there for name brands that I could purchase at the same price that haven't been worn! I was just appalled at her rudeness. Sorry if this review has gotten so long. Their items for sale, for lack of a better word, suck. I will be letting everyone know NOT to go to this store. Their employees need to learn what good...
Read moreAfter calling twice to the store to talk to a human being about bringing clothes in, and being forwarded to a poorly constructed automated message about business hours (which clearly states that their consignment hours are Tuesday - Saturday 10-5) I went in on a Tuesday to sell my more refined clothing: this is "upscale" after all. J.Crew, Coldwater Creek, etc. Clothes I've tried selling online first but got tired of waiting on. I drive all the way up there just to be STOPPED OUTSIDE THE BUILDING and told that they're not taking clothes. "Only on Wednesdays and Fridays." How would one know that? I tried calling and I listened to that awful recording just to still be wrong. I was also told everything must be brought in on hangers. So there I am, standing like a fool outside the store with my fancy Madewell bag that is not good enough. I was then told I could still come inside, but I promptly left. I will never step foot in that place. What a disorganized, horrible, stuck-up...
