Cleveland Mall — Local services in Shelby

Malls in America seem to be a dying a slow death countrywide. That said, I am So Proud of our little local mall. Drive into Gastonia, and other Bigger malls in the country, (Those still open that is) and they all seem so "depressed" due to darkened store windows. Or Worse, the stacked empty shelves or excess storage of other struggling stores visible through dusty smudged and darkened display windows. Then revisit our well maintained, brightly lit clean carpeted little mall. Though not always this way. (Once as bad or worse than others) it now has it's vacant spaces walled in so well, that one walking through honestly could not tell the original structural walls from the faux. All the walls are clean & bright; bearing historical photographic town images upon them. Some bearing dates and information, some with inspirational quotes, or both. Personally, I believe that someday the malls will return. Who wants to walk in blistering heat or stinging sleet from store to store? The concept of having all the stores and related merchandise one may want or need in one climate controlled environment is pure gold. Within Reason that is ! When "Too Big", they are too hard to properly maintain or police. Our little mall could very well be a model for the perfect sized mall in the future. As more and more people do "online shopping", more and more become disillusioned and dissatisfied with repacking, reshipping & complicated refund processes, and often No Refund at...

Very disappointed! Not a single store in the mall carried plus size clothing. Went for an evening outfit to where. Nada nope nothing even close to an 18. Why are they so close minded they don't want plus size woman to shop in the mall for clothes. I could where the socks in one store and that's it. Embarrassed is the overwhelming feeling I had .... Going from store to store in that mall. And I was told a mall in Charlotte was likely to be able ...possibly carry my size. I am over weight. I'm working on it. The mentality of the management of the three stores that carry clothes, I wonder what they were thinking. Screw the fat chicks... We don't want them in our stores in this mall. Humiliation.... That's the feeling. Bummed. But I gave this place 3 stars because of the couple other stores had fun decor for your home or office. Really cool nautical things....

It's a okay, I do wish there were more stores to choose from and not so many sports shoe stores, I like almost all the stores here, I don't like TJ Maxx, it's suppose to be a type of discount store like Marshell's Etc., by their prices are still very high. They need a Ross or something although Burke's does need to update their stock more or have more choices. I do miss Sears being there though, Claire's needs to be bigger with more choices. Bath and body works I wished was also bigger with more to choose from. So in conclusion it's an okay place to go locally, but unfortunately if you want more choices of stores Gastonia or Hickory malls are much bigger and have so much more to choose from. Also at some of the stores employees are great but in other stores they can be very snobby and will treat you differently if your not dressed a...
