I really had a very bad experience at the Verizon Retail Store situated in the Big-Y plaza Shelton. Generally I do not write bad reviews, but this is so bad and unprofessional that I feel the need to share my experience with our community.
Upon receiving a promo email from Verizon, I went to the above Verizon store to find the details and willingness to switch from T-Mobile to Verizon. The Sales Person, Reggie, made multiple errors and tricked me. Some of the errors are as followed:
He charged $140 for phone syncing and never revealed this to me. All he said was that I will be paying phone taxes that day. There were added activation charges that I had never agreed for. I had agreed for $35 per line for the plan, however, he put me on a $55 plan per line. The biggest mistake was that he had quoted me a value of $3200 in return for exchanging in me 4 phones. On my account I only see a return of $953. He put me on a phone protection plan that I denied and had to call Verizon to remove it.
He quoted me an approximate number of $184 per month for 4 lines. After switching to Verizon, I am seeing my new monthly bill as $300 per month. This is a contract for 30 months. I am extremely enraged.
Now when I try to talk to this person, he is not able to explain the invoice difference. I asked for the store supervisor's number, but he denied his number and said that he will call me instead. I tried talking to someone else in this store but no one had any interest in my case. Til this day, after three weeks, I am still waiting for a call from the store supervisor.
This store has deceptive sale practices, non truthful, and horrible customer service. There is no-one to escalate the issue in the store. This makes this store a big no on my end. I will not be recommending to go to this store to anyone. This store is a Verizon Retail Store not owned and operated by Verizon. I wish I would have known this earlier. DO NOT SHOP...
Read moreI don’t typically leave reviews but I felt compelled to share what an awful experience my wife and I had with this store. I had stopped in one day to inquire about upgrading my data package to unlimited because I was unsure if my employer discount would still apply. Turns out, it does not, which is no fault of the store but unfortunate nonetheless. While I was there, I figured I would pre-order the iPhone XR for my wife and I since I had planned to preorder anyways and didn’t think it would be an issue. They told me there would be a one time $30 charge per phone added to my next bill, which once again is unfortunate but no fault of the store. What they failed to tell me is that they were going to charge me $35 per phone for “setup assistance”, which consisted of the sales rep turning the phone on for me and instructing me to sign into my iCloud account. They were also experiencing issues with their computers, so my wife and I had to sit there for an hour until they eventually gave up and created a fake bill that came to about the same amount it was supposed to. Additionally, after leaving, I found out that they had signed us both up for the “total mobile protection” plan which is an additional $13 per month per phone without ever even making mention of it while we were there. On top of these things, the sales rep treated us like we were incompetent morons. At one point he got up and started to grab random cases and screen protectors for us because he didnt think we were going to buy them. I had to stop him and explain to him that we had already purchased those items ahead of time and that we would install them when we got home. I am truly disappointed by the experience that we had and the swindling that these sales reps try to do to unsuspecting customers. I will never make the mistake of walking into one of these...
Read moreConsumer beware! Verizon of Shelton makes sales based on deception. My wife & I recently upgraded a phone and during our conversations with Joseph Tavarez he had said we could get a tablet for $7/month. Even though we didn’t really need one, we both thought $7 was a fair price so we agreed.
At the next billing cycle, we saw a tablet charge for $20. I went down the next day and explained it to an associate since Joseph wasn’t around. I brought the tablet with me to return it. The associate called Joseph who told him there’s a $13 insurance charge and instructed the associate to remove the $13 insurance charge from my account and assured me the tablet charge will be $7/month going forward. I had asked the associate for a confirmation document, but he had said they are not allowed to print at the store.
The next billing cycle we saw the tablet charge was still $20. Again, I went down the next day, with the tablet, and spoke with Nick since Joseph wasn’t around. I explained my situation and he stepped away to call Joseph. Upon returning, he told me Joseph’s original tablet offer was for $7/month more than my current bill, not $7/month for the tablet alone. I asked Nick why we weren’t told it would cost $20/month from the start and he could not answer. He himself seemed to have a hard time believing what he was telling me. I told him to take the tablet back and cancel it. He said he couldn’t. It was past the 14-day return policy. I requested a call from Joseph or Ryan the Manager. I never got a call from either. I even tried reaching out to Cellular Customer Service and was told there was nothing they can do.
Shame on you Verizon of Shelton and...
