I just got back from my first visit to the Chocolate Tree. It's been a long time since I have been treated so rudely. I went into the store with the intention of buying a small box of dark chocolate candies for my mom for an Easter Basket. I asked the saleswoman if I could get a small box of chocolates. She directed me to the shelves behind me, which held two very large boxes of assorted candies. I told her I just wanted a small box of dark chocolates and asked if she could show me the size of a small box. The saleswoman told me I should pick out what I wanted and she would then select a box. Using my hands I showed her the size box I was hoping for and her response was the same...pick out the chocolates and she would choose the box, only this time rolling her eyes and huffing as she spoke. I thought maybe she wasn't understanding what I was trying to communicate and asked to see a box about "this" size and again showed her the size with my hands. Same response (third time), rolled her eyes at me and huffed with what I took to be annoyance at me...pick out the chocolates and she would select the box. Okay, so I really wanted to get my mom some special chocolates and I tried one more time. I asked directly, may I see a small box about "this" size. The saleswoman took a step back, leaned back, folded her arms over herself, rolled her eyes and angrily repeated the same words. I stood there for a few seconds thinking this in unbelievable. Then I turned to walk out of the store at which point the saleswoman calls after me, "I answered your question 4 times" and I left the store.
It will be a long time before I ever go back into that store. My father died two months ago and all I wanted was to put together a small Easter basket for my mom who always got an Easter basket from Dad....

The workers had no clue what any of the truffles even were. What kind of cake is in the cake bomb? They don't know. What's the difference between Key Lime Chiffon and Dark Key Lime? They don't know. Want to get a certain truffle? They don't know which one to grab. What type of truffle is the mother's day truffle? Again, they don't know. Plus, after getting them home, they are way too sweet and do not taste like what they were labeled as nor do they have the melty texture of good truffles. First time ever in my life I haven't liked truffles. They are just chocolate covered candies. A BIG...
