I urge you to spend elsewhere. My family and I went to inquire about a boat on Friday April 2. Having a great relationship with Yamaha, we decided to get another new Yamaha. Doug the sales and finance specialist was great from start to finish. Unfortunately Yamaha did not approve our credit application. That’s not a problem. Doug expressed to me there was other cash buyers for this particular vessel and allowed me to know of a second on its way in. I let him know obtaining the cash to purchase the boat was not a problem and I just needed a couple days to arrange from my personal savings. Today Tuesday the 6th I called as early as possible to arrange to purchase as I didn’t want to miss the opportunity. I received a call from the owner Kenny who was very aggressive in his manner exclaiming he will pass on the sale to me. Caught off guard I asked for a reasonable explanation on why he would not want to do business that I was ready to purchase cash and would come right down, his response was we are about good relationships and he’s not going to sell to a person who was disapproved on a credit application. Started getting louder and repeated I do all the approvals I seen your past bankruptcy and repossessions.(never had a repossession) (I’ve been discharged from bankruptcy for 6 years and have had plenty of loans since) nonetheless I am a cash buyer he was rude and insensitive extremely degrading. I wasn’t going to stay on the phone and be publicly bashed any longer. As stated by the owner himself he is about relationships and this certainly isn’t a way to have one. As a business owner myself I can single handedly tell you this is no way to treat a fellow person, business owner, customer or anything else you may be. Shame on surf city for the way they...
Read moreWorking with Surf City Marina on the purchase of our 2022 Seadoo Switch 18’ 170 hp was an incredible experience. We preordered with them(without ever seeing the boat) which left a lot of uncertainty because it was a new product but the owner wouldn’t let us put the order in until he personally went and got eyes on the boat. Our salesman was Doug Williams and he did an amazing job of keeping us informed. There were a ton of delivery and production delays but Doug kept us in the loop the whole time. When we took delivery of our boat they took us for a water test and showed us the ins and outs. The whole purchasing experience was fantastic from start to finish, and it didn’t end there. On our 4th or 5th time taking the boat out the check engine light came on and the boat went into limp mode. It was noon on Saturday of Memorial Day weekend…..we were sure our holiday weekend was ruined. We called Doug and they told us to bring it right in. An hour later they had us back on the water. Their customer service is equal to none and we can not recommend them highly enough. They are good people that stand behind what they sell and you can’t ask for...
Read moreLeft a few messages! One to inquire about a pad to rent in the marina before I blew my Yamaha engine. Than to inquire about any used or new skis available? Never even got a call back! Pretty sad considering I was a Service Manager in the Boat business for a large dealership with 2 Marinas. So I understand it gets busy. I am also a local from Surf a City and never got a call back! Guess what, I ordered a new one from East Coast cycle in Bensalem Pa. Had exact GTI 170 SE model with stereo coming in and not sold yet in the color I want. Everything was done over the phone and a great simple process! Oh yeah.. I kept my pad at Sun Harbor Bar and Grill again this year and next! Guess what... They both called back!! Has always been terrible, arrogant customer service In...
