Very horrible experience with getting my furniture delivery from this group. Was moving to a brand new apt and wanted updated and quality furniture items to match the new home. The design consultant was fantastic, but after she quit, i found out that the store is now a corporate store. I got caught in between the transition from a locally owned store to a new corporate location. They changed ordering systems as well.
.My issue started when the delivery team from the warehouse was clueless on what i had to be delivered. Floor samples( in the basement with my name on them) did NOT need me to wait to have them come in ( they were there already). Since my main contact/ the designer had left, i was told my order was in the store manager's hands for completion. That would have been fine, but he retired before my order was ready to ship The direction after that event( retirement) was that the order was being handled by a senior design consultant and the operations manager. The reason that I required more assistance was due to the two different ordering systems, plus having product from a purchase of floor samples. The new consultant was not able to find the paperwork, and I had to scan my copies in and send to her. Luckily I kept everything that was part of the process. She told me that my order was going to be followed by the ops manager while she was away for a few days. At that point, i was fuming. I felt like i was handed off to numerous people, all of which were not doing much at all to resolve my delivery. I called to speak to the ops manager( i was less than three weeks away from the delivery). Her response to an obviously very upset customer was that "she sent a few emails, and that was the process:....not what i wanted to hear. VERY VERY upset over that. She seems to be the key to all of the deliveries, but obviously seems to have a lack of concern to get product to customers.
With the amount of money that i spent, a few emails less than three weeks from the delivery was TOTALLY unacceptable.
I finally was able to get someone at the delivery location who knew what they were doing, but then they had my wrong address( old apt where i was moving from, not to), and they indicated that they could not deliver if there was a balance on the account( i was paying on the EA credit card over time). Why does a balance on an Ethan Allen credit card make a delivery an issue?
District manager was finally able to get all of the paper work resolved and correct and i did get my furniture.
I will never order from this group again. For a "high end " furniture company, it felt more like I was held hostage and needed to fight for...

Long version: Our recent shopping experiences at Ethan Allen have been nothing short of stellar, with much credit due to designer Amy Peacock Smith.
In late February my husband and I stopped into EA with my mother to show her a sofa we were considering for our new living room. Because she will soon be living with us, we wanted her opinion of its appearance and her assessment of its comfort. At that time we had no intention of purchasing anything else from EA, just this unique sofa that I felt certain we would all enjoy.
What was intended to be a quick confirmatory visit turned into an enjoyable hour or so spent with Amy, selecting new pieces and fabrics that will anchor my mother's new in-law suite. Amy is knowledgeable, perceptive and playful, and her patient and kind way with my mother really struck a chord with us. When we left having not yet chosen a fabric for the sofa that originally brought us into the store (but with an appointment to return a a few days later), we knew we had experienced something special.
In March we visited with Amy several weekends in a row. When we described items we intended to purchase elsewhere, Amy invited (but never pressed) us to consider an EA alternative. (In many cases we opted for the EA version.) Amy quickly understood our tastes and the styles we most like; her finds and suggestions from among the thousands of fabric options were never far off (and nearly always spot-on). We would never on our own have found the textiles that were ultimately selected. Which means we would never on our own have the home we will now soon have. Amy's a gem.
Our thanks to Amy (and Andrew and EA West Broad) for such a fun decorating and...
Read moreWe had a wonderful experience at the Short Pump Ethan Allen. We furnished our living room, dining room and family room. Additionally; we purchased pieces for our foyer, two bedrooms and a mattress and foundation. Ethan Allen workmanship speaks for itself. We’ve purchased pieces in the past and they have lasted for years.
Over several months, we worked with Judy Brown, our design consultant, and couldn’t have been more pleased! She listened to our thoughts and what we envisioned for each room. Her design expertise and knowledge of the inventory is invaluable. Furnishing many rooms that flow together seemed overwhelming to us at first. However; with Judy’s expertise, professionalism and guidance it all came together seamlessly!
There were numerous visits over many months. Each time we visited the store, she would have the choices we already made displayed at a design table, in addition to those we were contemplating. Seeing it all together that way was extremely helpful! She came to our home to make sure everything fit and the colors worked. She was extremely helpful and patient in the decision-making process.
All the deliveries were made within the time frames she gave us, some even sooner. The delivery teams were extremely professional, timely and meticulous.
The store is beautifully set up to showcase the versatility of their pieces. Everyone was always courteous, very professional and welcoming. There was never any pressure to buy.
We learned a lot working with Judy and we are very happy with all our choices (wouldn’t change a thing). Thank you, Ethan Allen, for a...
