If you're looking for expensive leather furniture do yourself a favor and pass on Leather Gallery and Bedding!!! These are obviously some very greedy people that have zero compassion for their customers and the people of their community.. July 10, 2022 Ordered furniture $4271.48/Deposit (Total Invoice w/tax $13,871.48) was told by Heidi/Sales person it would take at least 8 months or longer for delivery... Sept. 28, 2022 Hurricane Ian hit flooding our entire home with 4" inches of water causing extensive/expensive damage to our home (none of which is covered by our Insurance). The flooring/baseboards in our entire home had to be removed..we also have to replace all kitchen cabinets..bathroom/laundry room cabinets. All reputable contractors we have contacted thus far are booked out to the 3rd quarter or further of 2023..barring any complications/delays caused by the supply chain disaster!! Nov. 5, 2022 We reached out to Heidi via e-mail (attached) explaining our entire situation and we wished to cancel our order. After sending the e-mail we called the store to make sure Heidi still worked there and found out she no longer works there. Nov. 7, 2022 We received an e-mail (attached) from Tom McKenna/Store Manager (totally blowing off our Nov. 5th e-mail to Heidi). He said Heidi no longer worked there and he was following up with her orders. Our chairs should be arriving in the United States from Norway sometime in December and our order should be complete by sometime in January..they would call to set up delivery. So the order was not complete at that time and could have easily been canceled!! Nov. 7, 2022 We forwarded our e-mail to Tom and we also sent out a Certified Letter (attached)..making sure he couldn't once again ignore our dilemma and our request to cancel!! Nov. 12, 2022 We received an e-mail from Tom (attached) saying they have dozens of customers throughout the Ian stricken area that suffered damage all the way to total loss and canceling these dozens of orders is not an option. The best they can do is offer to store the furniture (which they hadn't even been received from the manufacturer at this time) for as long as need be.. until we/their customers can get our lives and homes back in order...Holding our thousands of dollars we all could use right now hostage!!! Sadly...They're greed and lack of compassion becomes a hardship for not only us but apparently "dozens" of other customers that were affected by Ian!!! NOT EVEN...."We will cancel your order and keep your deposit and once you get your lives and home back together you can come in and place a new order and your deposit will be applied to your new order." But even with that...We have to pray they don't go out of business!!! Nov. 23, 2022 Ashley called from Tarpon Furniture (owned by Bruce that also owns the Leather Gallery) Ashley called to set up delivery for our furniture..obviously there was ZERO communication from Tom!! I explained the entire situation to Ashley including telling her we have "no idea" how long it will take to even get a contractor scheduled to start our house repairs. She said they will store our furniture for as long as it takes and asked if I had a guess how long that would be..I explained to her again it could be the end of 2023 or beginning of 2024!! She said she works closely with Bruce/the owner and she would fill him in on our situation and assured me he would call me within the next few days...Crickets!!! Dec. 6, 2022 Called Ashley and asked if she ever talked to Bruce/Owner...she said she did and that I was supposed to call and talk to Tom?? Since no one bothered to communicate that to me...I was supposed to know that how?? Ashley then said that she would contact Tom and have him call me... Our worry?? With this level of Customer Service/Lack of Customer Service what guarantee do we have that this place will stay in business long enough to receive our furniture or a refund of...
Read moreBased on a recommendation from a sales person at a different furniture store, I visited the Leather Gallery and Bedding Center and asked for Doretta. Also based on the recommendation from the other salesperson, as well as numerous online reviews, I was specifically interested in Omnia furniture. Turns out it was a great recommendation on all accounts. Doretta was fantastic, professional, personable, and informative. The Omni furniture was exactly what I was looking for and the options to customize the furniture were expansive. Plus, the Leather Gallery had several other high end brands so the buying options were vast. I settled on the Omnia and am happy I did. It is everything I was hoping for and arrived in great shape and without problems. I also ordered two contemporary end tables that I am very pleased with. The delivery team was prompt, thorough, and professional. Finally, the pricing at the Leather Gallery was excellent and they will work to earn your business. Outstanding experience.
UPDATE: While the buying experience was excellent, the follow-up on service has been abysmal and for that I'd give a one-star rating. I bought an Omnia sofa and chair. The right seat on the sofa wasn't right and the first problem was a headrest that malfunctioned. A technician came out and took care of that, but the back of the right sofa flopped back and forth. I was told by the store that they all are like that. But after a few months of observing it I called the Service Department to repair it. I was scheduled for a Monday morning between 9am and 12pm. Sometime around 12 I was told the technician had car problems and couldn't make the time. He finally showed up a 4pm, and quickly decided the mechanism needed to be replaced. Several weeks later the scheduler called and said the part was in. Again, I was scheduled for a Monday morning. Never heard a thing from the service department until I called them only to learn that the technician would not be coming out, again due to vehicle problems. I was scheduled for Friday of that week, with a time between 2pm and 5pm. I got a call from the technician Friday morning telling me that he doesn't have the part needed to fix the sofa. I explained that the scheduler was the one who called me and told me the part was in. So now it is late afternoon on Friday and I never received a call back from the service department or the technician to update my status. Further, when I spoke to the technician and the scheduler, their stories about why they didn't show up on time for the first appointment didn't match.
I now regret purchasing the Omnia sofa (which supposedly has a good reputation) and certainly regret purchasing from this company.
Update. It is now mid-June 2022 and my sofa STILL is not repaired. I first had a technician out to fix the sofa in August 2020. Several visits later and I'm still waiting to have a properly operating...
Read moreNow it's been OVER 2 years, and I still don't have my furniture repaired! Tarpon Furniture is the one who supposedly ordered parts at the end of January 2021, so 8 months later...NOTHING. I'm ready to go to the TV stations if I don't hear something very soon. There is NO EXCUSE. I was told the ETA for the parts was July 14th. No phone calls, no parts, no word at all.
It's been almost TWO YEARS, and I still don't have my furniture repaired. After MANY phone calls, I can get no action from anyone!!
I received my furniture just a little over a year ago. It's a couch, recliner and a rocker/recliner. I am EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED in this entire set, made by Southern Motion. We had the arm of the couch repaired back in July, just shy of a year. It was coming apart and long nails/brads were showing. There are splits/tears in the folds of the couch, near the seam. The recliner is now so low, flattened after sitting in it that it's hard to get up out of it. Overall, a terribly made set of furniture, and I've had better from Rooms to Go. The section below was just prior to receiving furniture, but that part still holds true.
