Read more4 of us went for dinner tonight and had such a delicious, amazing time. No wait to dine outside, and although a little warm, the acoustics and ability to talk to friends is wonderful - so we dined outside. We were so happy we did- our waitress, Julia really stood out extra as a bright spot. The food and drink were delicious as ever, but she was super sweet and helpful when we were choosing from one item vs another. She made certain all of our items were brought out as soon as ready, and double checked to make sure we always had extra silverware and napkins for the variety of items we ordered and enjoyed. knowing I like all my beverages very cold, she went out of her way to make certain all my drinks were cold, and I never ran out of ice.
The Salmon special is one of the best things I ever ate. The glaze, and light char were fantastic, and the cabbage salad was stunning and delicious. It was an excellent portion of salmon, with the salad also being a dinner portion - was very filling. A variety of cabbages, Juliane carrots and I think radish- were the salad, with a peanut ginger miso vibe on the plate- also topped with cashews and crispy noodles. I was so kind to share a bite with my dining mates and they all agreed it was def an 11 on a scale of 1-10. We told our Waitress Julia it was so good it should be on the menu instead of a special! Since the salad for this dish is Julianne - we feel like putting it on a permanent menu would be a superb addition. We even want to suggest putting it on the menu as "Julia" or at least include her name. We were thinking "Julia inspired vegetables ..."
We also had several cocktails between us we all loved! .99 martini, one vodka, 1 gin, Honestly Honestly, Curse of the Normans, and 2 watermelon sugar high. It goes without saying we were to fill for dessert- next time!!! Thanks to Florence for your beautiful restaurant with superb food, and for hiring amazing staff. We told Julia she will be stuck with us again soon- she really made our dining out experience top notch!
Google does not list all the wonderful items we ordered but they are pictured where we also...

The space bursts with character—lush greenery, bohemian touches, rattan accents, and playful neon lighting all come together to create an atmosphere that’s warm, fun, and vibrantly unique. It feels like you’ve stepped into a friends’ artsy, colorful living room—one that smells amazing and serves incredible food.
The menu? Chef’s kiss. The owners’ journey from food truck glory to dual brick‐and‐mortar success shows up in every bite. The classics are must‐orders—the chicken shawarma is tender, marinated just right; the turmeric fried chicken sandwich is crispy, golden, and packs flavor without overwhelming you. If you want to try something a little more playful, the vegan falafel pita taco and the “Rainbow Bowl” are as beautiful to look at as they are to eat.
“Elevated comfort” is the right way to think of what they do here. Portions are generous, ingredients are fresh, and there’s attention to detail in seasoning and texture—you taste love in the slaw, in the pickles, in the sauces. And for dessert… the house‐made chocolate chip cookie with Goldfish crackers is a quirky, glorious surprise. Somehow sweet, salty, nostalgic, and modern all at once.
Service matches the food. Staff are warm, attentive, and genuinely seem happy you chose to be there. It’s not just eating—it feels like being welcomed into a community that’s excited to share its passion.
Overall, Florence & the Spice Boys at UTC is a shining star in the Sarasota dining scene. Whether you’re looking for flavor, ambiance, creativity, or just a damn good meal you’ll want to talk about later, this place delivers across the board. Highly, highly...
