Nestled in the heart of the Landings plaza in Sarasota, Florence and the Spice Boys stands out as a standout among the city's dining scene. As soon as you step foot into this culinary haven, you're greeted by an ambiance that effortlessly combines warmth, sophistication, and a hint of eclectic charm.

One of the standout features of Florence and the Spice Boys is its commitment to delivering bold and adventurous flavors that tantalize the taste buds in the most delightful way possible. With a menu that boasts Mediterranean fusion cuisine, each dish is a masterful symphony of authentic spices, seasonings, and sauces, carefully curated to create an unforgettable dining experience. From zesty za'atar to aromatic harissa, every bite is a culinary journey through the vibrant streets of the Mediterranean.

But it's not just the food that impresses at Florence and the Spice Boys—their drink selection is equally as impressive. Whether you're in the mood for a refreshing cocktail crafted with premium spirits and house-made infusions, or a cold beer expertly paired with your meal, the bar staff are true artisans, dedicated to ensuring that each sip is nothing short of perfection.

What truly sets Florence and the Spice Boys apart, however, is its inviting and inclusive atmosphere. With both indoor and outdoor seating options, guests have the freedom to dine in a setting that suits their mood, whether it's cozying up indoors or basking in the warm Florida sunshine on the outdoor patio. And for families with young children, the small play area outside is a thoughtful touch that ensures little ones are entertained while parents enjoy their meal.

Speaking of outdoor seating, pet owners will be delighted to know that Florence and the Spice Boys welcomes four-legged friends with open arms. The dog-friendly outdoor seating area is the perfect spot to enjoy a meal with your furry companion by your side, adding an extra layer of joy and companionship to your dining experience.

In conclusion, Florence and the Spice Boys is more than just a restaurant—it's an experience. From the bold and flavorful cuisine to the inviting atmosphere and thoughtful amenities, every aspect of this establishment is designed to delight and inspire. 4 of us went for dinner tonight and had such a delicious, amazing time. No wait to dine outside, and although a little warm, the acoustics and ability to talk to friends is wonderful - so we dined outside. We were so happy we did- our waitress, Julia really stood out extra as a bright spot. The food and drink were delicious as ever, but she was super sweet and helpful when we were choosing from one item vs another. She made certain all of our items were brought out as soon as ready, and double checked to make sure we always had extra silverware and napkins for the variety of items we ordered and enjoyed. knowing I like all my beverages very cold, she went out of her way to make certain all my drinks were cold, and I never ran out of ice.

The Salmon special is one of the best things I ever ate. The glaze, and light char were fantastic, and the cabbage salad was stunning and delicious. It was an excellent portion of salmon, with the salad also being a dinner portion - was very filling. A variety of cabbages, Juliane carrots and I think radish- were the salad, with a peanut ginger miso vibe on the plate- also topped with cashews and crispy noodles. I was so kind to share a bite with my dining mates and they all agreed it was def an 11 on a scale of 1-10. We told our Waitress Julia it was so good it should be on the menu instead of a special! Since the salad for this dish is Julianne - we feel like putting it on a permanent menu would be a superb addition. We even want to suggest putting it on the menu as "Julia" or at least include her name. We were thinking "Julia inspired vegetables ..."

We also had several cocktails between us we all loved! .99 martini, one vodka, 1 gin, Honestly Honestly, Curse of the Normans, and 2 watermelon sugar high. It goes without saying we were to fill for dessert- next time!!! Thanks to Florence for your beautiful restaurant with superb food, and for hiring amazing staff. We told Julia she will be stuck with us again soon- she really made our dining out experience top notch!

Google does not list all the wonderful items we ordered but they are pictured where we also...

If you haven’t been to Florence & the Spice Boys at UTC, you are missing out. From the moment you walk through the doors, you know you’re in for something special. The space bursts with character—lush greenery, bohemian touches, rattan accents, and playful neon lighting all come together to create an atmosphere that’s warm, fun, and vibrantly unique. It feels like you’ve stepped into a friends’ artsy, colorful living room—one that smells amazing and serves incredible food.

The menu? Chef’s kiss. The owners’ journey from food truck glory to dual brick‐and‐mortar success shows up in every bite. The classics are must‐orders—the chicken shawarma is tender, marinated just right; the turmeric fried chicken sandwich is crispy, golden, and packs flavor without overwhelming you. If you want to try something a little more playful, the vegan falafel pita taco and the “Rainbow Bowl” are as beautiful to look at as they are to eat.

“Elevated comfort” is the right way to think of what they do here. Portions are generous, ingredients are fresh, and there’s attention to detail in seasoning and texture—you taste love in the slaw, in the pickles, in the sauces. And for dessert… the house‐made chocolate chip cookie with Goldfish crackers is a quirky, glorious surprise. Somehow sweet, salty, nostalgic, and modern all at once.

Service matches the food. Staff are warm, attentive, and genuinely seem happy you chose to be there. It’s not just eating—it feels like being welcomed into a community that’s excited to share its passion.

Overall, Florence & the Spice Boys at UTC is a shining star in the Sarasota dining scene. Whether you’re looking for flavor, ambiance, creativity, or just a damn good meal you’ll want to talk about later, this place delivers across the board. Highly, highly...

We liked the food-truck so were excited to try the restaurant, especially given the reviews. Maybe our expectations were too high but honestly kinda disappointed because we really wanted to love it- Pros: Atmosphere is phenomenal, lots of outdoor seating, great friendly service, the chicken shawarma salad was fresh, flavorful seasonings/sauces, interesting ingredients/relishes, a little on the pricey side but good- Improvements: it was early in the day but believe it or not they were out of Rice! Not too mention no eggplant either (except the babaganoush) - how does a local Mediterranean restaurant not have rice on hand (worst case theres a Publix a few stores down, farmers market for local eggplant a mile away) - especially when it is a key ingredient in their bowl signature dishes? Also, the babaganoush wasn't to our liking - I'm fine that it didn't have the smoky flavor you would normally expect but it seemed thinned out with something, pretty bland, IDK- Probably give it another try given the positives and want to support innovative local restaurants, while still providing balanced feedback - I'd say give it a try and decide for yourself!

We had the most amazing experience! The food was amazing as always (loved them since the food truck) and the service was beyond any measure of expectations. One person in our party of 3 is sadly unable to eat out due to Celiacs. The slightest bit of cross contamination could be devastating. We sat outside and ordered our drinks and food. He mentioned how he'd love to try a certain mixed drink but felt it may be too risky. Paola the server checked with the bar tender Maya. She was so knowledgeable, kind and considerate. They sanitized the glass, went an extra step to confirm the ingredients with the original source and completely made the drink from scratch. They omitted an ingredient that couldn't be confirmed GF and left the ice out because of the risk of cross contamination. Truly made our night! Florence checked in to make sure we were cared for, pleasant as always. There were tears and hugs of gratitude. They truly cared and were more than accommodating. I regret this review took longer to post than hoped. We love Florence and the Spice Boys! Highly recommended! The food is amazing as always!!! 🥰
