It's definitely a nice pool. It is separated into three sections: little kids wading pool, 4 foot deep "family area", and the deep end. There is no diving anywhere except in the deep end off the diving board, and no flips! The building and pool area are cleaned daily and well-kept. There is a cover for the outdoor area of the pool during the winter and then it gets removed as spring turns to summer. The only downside about that is that you leave the warm pool area and freeze for about 15 feet until you get into the bathroom / changing area! The changing rooms are nice and clean. They have lockers and benches along with sinks and toilets. The showers in the changing area are along the wall by the exit to the pool. They are walled off from the door for privacy. The showers start with the push-button that has a timer, it may be hard for small children to work by themselves. There are two family changing rooms. The family rooms have a bench where children can sit to get changed as well as a sink / toilet / shower. They also have diaper changing stations. Overall it is...
Read moreWe had a horrible experience with the first level swim instructor, Megan. The last 10 minutes of class she attempted to put goggles on my 3 yr. old son. (This was something NEW) He didn't want to. She then gave him the choice of either putting on the goggles or being done and he said, "be done". She lifted him up out of the pool and said ok. He walked away and spent the rest of the class wrapped up in a towel complaining of being cold. Next she asked my 5 yr. old daughter and she was too scared to put them on, so Megan told her she was done. She walked away crying and sat on my lap the rest of the class crying. We stayed watching her work with the other kid in class, thinking she would have our kids get in the pool again to resume class....but she didn't, and then class was over. She gave my husband and I NO form of communication the entire time and none after class either. She used punishment in her teaching skills, instead of POSITIVE teaching skills. She also cut our class time short. We pay for 30 minutes and every...
Read moreDifficult to rate. Clean, 3 great pools to use. Some of the staff are friendly, others very standoffish. Often, I feel that the staff is the customer ...and I'm working for them. At times, I feel as though they're doing me a favor to let us swim there. The open hours for swimming are so few that it's hardly worth the time to pack everything up and go. Usually only open 2 hours at a time. If the pool closes at 4, they make everyone go home at 3:50. The emphasis at the pool seems to be lessons and swim team, not activity for the general community. We pay full membership per month and feel we have very few time slots available for free swim. The swim times on the weekends are the exact same time as the movie showings at the local theater, so its impossible to swim, then...
